  As an outsider looking in I feel it is necessary for you all to just calm down. The way that you vote doesn’t have to affect the way that you treat other people. Who cares if someone wants to vote for McCain, and another wants to vote for Obama. Everyone is still equal. Its funny how every morning you stand up and say the pledge of alliegance, stating that everyone is equal when you don’t practice that in your daily lives?

  I am extremely over generalizing here, and I appreciate that, but its just so common for all these nasty hurtful comments because someone doesn’t agree with the other person.

  It looks like the US is heading for more of a Nazi mentality. (the only people who are ‘clean and pure’ are worthy of being ‘American’ and everyone else needs to … for a better word SHUT UP)

• First off I am not a Sarah Palin supporter but “4” years ago she had forgotten her news anchor aspirations and become involved in politics although it was pretty minor league.

  Second if Sam became a citizen of the country she lives in and says she “loves” she too could vote. Get your citizenship, Sam, its not that hard and the US does allow dual citizenship in most cases.

  This election is quite entertaining. Can’t wait for the debates!

This dumbass dyke (Samantha Ronson) wants us to vote for Obama if we’re uncertain otherwise her green card won’t get renewed??? • Nadine, a lot of what you say is sad, but true. There are more emotions in this election than I remember from any since I have been following politics. There is definitely fear amongst the American people because our economy is faltering and we are starting to finally realize that we have to trust our leaders to save us.

  I am trying to tell myself that voting simply boils down to basic beliefs. I personally believe simply that women should have the right to choose in the case of rape or incest, that homosexuals should have the same rights as heterosexuals, that the government should provide some sort of healthcare to its taxpayers. As such, I will vote for Obama. It’s nothing personal against Sarah Palin (who I like as a woman but still think is grossly unqualified for the job).

  Honestly, I think whoever wins is screwed because we are on a tight downward spiral from which neither candidate will be able to instantly recover. Both candidates are fudging details, both candidates have weaknesses. If we can just look at our personal beliefs on the issues and accept that others may not feel the same, the personal attacks could cease.

• I was born in a different country and while I don’t stand for McCain or Palin, I am not fearful that my greencard won’t get renewed if they are sworn in! That is just silly talk from Sam.
  And I really don’t see the big deal with her not having a passport. She was running her state. Yes, she prob could have done/learned more/different things with a passport, but I feel that the media is making too much of a big deal with that. just like they have done with every other little thing that really doesn’t matter much, instead of focusing on what really matters.

• I am a white, single mom age 37,and I will be voting for Obama. These are scary times,our economy is crumbling, the unemployment rate is higher than it’s been in decades, teenage soldiers are dying in a war that has been going on far to long. I implore everyone, do your homework here. If the fate of our amazing country is not worth time for little research I don’t know what is. Sarah Palin is resposible for several untruths, misleading comments and some pretty audacious insults the past 2 weeks. I have 2 daughters. I want their reproductive rights to be theirs and theirs alone. Sarah Palin believes in abstinence only in schools again abolishing my daughters right to learn about alernatives in PUBLIC schools.The mere thought of teaching creationism with evolution goes against the very soul and founation of the U.S.A. (That’s the seperation of church and state for any of you republicans who may have forgotten.) These are just some of what should be concerning us about a woman, hockey mom, governor and LIAR, who could end up using her shiney new passport to run our great country. I would pray that people still love this country enough to get the FACTS and think with broad and open mind and for nothing else .

• I have actually warmed to Samantha Ronson, she is cool and seems to make Lindsay happy. I don’t get how she is a parasite, she works so will also pay taxes. Besides, USA is based on immigration and the economy depends on it.

• I have a hard time trusting the sources that Lindsay comes up with. I would be shocked if what you have read has as much truth and accuracy as what Lindsay would lead you to believe. I also think that it is difficult to criticize Palin’s experience when truth be told Obama also lacks experience when he is the one running for President. I would never presume to tell people how to vote, but I would hope that most American’s would not vote based on research off of Lindsay Lohan’s blog. Come up with your own opinions and try to make it about the policies and less about what some 20 something ex-drug addict thinks is best for “her” country.

It’s clearly printed in the bible what is a sin – and yes, homosexuality, sex before marriage and having children out of wedlock are all mentioned! The truth is – that we are all sinners. I just love it when people pick out their own sins and point the finger at a “christian” as attacking them personally. That’s not really how it works. True Christians use the bible to guide their own lives, according to God’s written word. I see so few christians (real or proclaimed) attacking anyone – yet a lot of liberals are scared of us. They needn’t be.

• Here’s another thing that scares the crap out of me as a woman- While Sarah Palin was the Mayor of Wasilla, women were forced to pay for their rape kits in hospitals. It wasn’t until democratic lawmakers in Alaska created a bill that this nasty practice was stopped. So, let’s sum it up for women:
  John McCain doesn’t support equal pay for equal work, saying it would just be a burden on companies and the problem is that women need better education (because we are dumb whiners)
  Sarah Palin doesn’t support abortion even in cases of rape and incest. So if a 12 year old girl were raped by her uncle, Sarah Palin would make her carryout the pregnancy.
  Sarah Palin believes a woman should pay for her own rape kit after she’s been brutalized
  John McCain voted against a bill that would require health insurance companies to cover birth control if they covered a certain men’s sexual health pill that I apparently cannot say the name of on this website (hint it starts with a “V”).

  And I think they are setting the women’s movement back years by all this faux sexism stuff. Beet, you said it very well in another post. Expectations are lower for Sarah because she’s a woman. If you grill her on her experience, you’re a sexist. If you ask her to explain a lie, you’re a sexist. If you mock her on SNL, you’re a sexist (you hear that, Tina Fey?) Like we shouldn’t be held to the same standards as men? Yikes.

  And Texas Gal, while I’m not a practicing Christian, I have some FANTASTIC Christian friends, some of whome are-gasp- gay! They believe in helping, loving, and accepting people just like Jesus did. Liberals aren’t afraid of Christians, we are afraid of extremists. And like our founding fathers, many of us don’t believe a democracy can work without the strong separation of church and state.

• Such hostility on the Beet comments. But I do find it kind of hard to take political ” advice ” from Lindsay Lohan. Samantha, well I don’t know. But someone who has their cooter posted all over Beet’s website doesn’t really deserve to be taken seriously in any means in my opinion.

  While they are entitled to their opinion, so is everyone else, and that was mine.

• I think the McCain-Palin ticket will seal it’s own fate here. I am so pleased that the media have been calling them out and pointig out inconsistancies in their words and proclamations.It’s concerning that so many people seemed disracted by her celebrity/womanhood,or whatever you’d call it. I am a woman but I don’t use it as an excuse to be treated any differently than anyone else. I expect to get equal pay as a man would for doing the same job, I also expect to be held accountable for my words and actions in the same light. If anyone out there could come up with another way of candy-coating her lack of experience and integrity I’d be well…not shocked at all. This is ridiculous, not to mention upsetting. Just yesterday John McCain said the fundamentals of our economy were strong…today diferent words. Was he somewhere else all together yesterday?? WOW. • The symbol of the United States is the American Flag. Does Obama know this? Its pretty basic people, how can you trust a man that doesnt even respect America enough to say the Pledge of Allegience and salute the symbol of the USA, the American Flag? He voted NO to a bill that would make desecration of the American Flag illegall! Whats bad is that he misses almost half of the bills that he is supposed to vote on but voted no on that one! • One other thing, how can a man that has attended the same church for 20 years never hear or not agree with the views of the preacher? There are always other churches you can attend if you do not agree with what the preachers is saying but he stayed for twenty years. He listened to Wright preach of hate for 20 years, he called Wright his mentor, his sound board, and yet he somehow has completely different views? Here is just one paragraph of millions that you can find simply by googling OBamas preacher.

  I guess Wright only made those speeches on the select few dates that someone there recorded them?? Obama has since distanced himself.. again, took twenty years and alot of people raising hell before he would do it. Go ahead.. google it if you have the guts to admit that you have been fooled by a man that preaches of hope and peace in this country that he was not even raised in and his wife has just barely begun to be proud of.
