That John McCain Ad: Worth Every Penny

I’m telling you, whatever John McCain’s campaign paid for that ad comparing Barack Obama to Paris Hilton, it was well worth it. This is by far the most that the anyone’s talked about the Republican candidate since Heidi Montag graced him with her ringing endorsement.

Up now, we have Kathy Hilton — who had previously donated to the McCain campaign — releasing this statement to the Huffington Post:

I’ve been asked again and again for my response to the now infamous McCain celebrity ad. I actually have three responses. It is a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign. It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States.

Silly Kathy. If America were in the habit of choosing someone for a position based on his or her merits, we never would have made Paris a celebrity, now would we?

  • I love the final pose of McCain looking into the “god light” and hiding the other side of his face that is scared because of cancer operations.

  • The evidence that the certificate of live birth (COLB) produced to prove the date and place of Sen. Barack Obama’s birth is a forged document just keeps getting more damning. A board-certified computer forensics examiner with more than 20 years experience, including clearance by the U.S. Department of Justice for sensitive work, has determined that the Obama COLB is a digitally modified forgery based on a COLB belonging to another person. The expert, using the pseudo name “Techdude”, intends to disclose the identity of the person to whom the COLB belongs if the responsible person does not come forward and accept responsibility for the forgery. Techdude writes at the Texas Darlin blog, a pro Clinton blog, as follows:

For a quick preview – the original COLB used to create the KOS COLB image belongs to a female and does not belong to Obama. Another follow up report will reveal exactly who the original underlying COLB did belong to. Trust me when I tell you it is going to be one hell of a major twist that no one would have seen coming. I had to quadruple check my results because I did not even believe it and I currently have a few other people double and triple checking my results as well just to be 100% sure.

That said, and in the interest of fairness, if the people responsible for forging the COLB come forward and admit their liability the name of the original COLB owner will not be released publicly. It is only fair to give the guilty parties a chance to take responsibility for their actions before it embarrasses a lot of people and ruins some people’s reputations.

As a heads up to the guilty parties – the names and dates have already been restored – as has the fact the owner is a female born in the 70’s. That is all that will be revealed publicly for now. Besides if I turn up in a ditch someplace the information is already in a few 3rd party hands and they will just release it in my place.

If anyone still believes the KOS COLB is legitimate after reading this article they should seriously think about seeking professional help.

Techdude, since surfacing on the Texas Darlin blog in recent weeks to question the authenticity of the Obama COLB, has been criticized by pro-Obama supporters for refusing to identify himself. “My full name and contact information will be released shortly once the entire set of facts has been released to the public,” Techdude writes. “This way if I end up at the bottom of a construction site someplace in NJ the world will still have all the information I was going to provide.” Earlier, Techdude reported that pro Obama supporters had tracked down his home address, vandalized his car and hung a dead rabbit over his doorway.

  • The Hiltons thought making campaign contributions to McCain was obviously the thing to do until that ad came out. Now, Kathy doesn’t want anyone contributing any more money to his campaign. Period. This BS rhetoric of hers is just that; it’s got nothing to do with the mortgage crisis, or a “frivolous way to elect a president.”

I’ve always heard she was a shallow “biatch,” — she certainly is. And an ignorant one at that. If she’s annoyed at his campaign managers and that absurd ad campaign they came out with that included her daughter, then say so. Don’t come out with such mindless and manipulative gibberish.

  • “Silly Kathy. If America were in the habit of choosing someone for a position based on his or her merits, we never would have made Paris a celebrity, now would we?”

Isn’t that how we got stuck with Bush for 8 years?

  • It was an awful ad. Even objectively, he doesn’t state ANY of his policies. He tells us why Barack Obama is bad, but not why McCain is a good alternative. It’s ridiculous.

On another note, Beet, why haven’t you deleted Techdude’s conspiracy theory spam bullshit?

  • * responsibility simply can not be beaten by counting. One of responsibility dealt to the guilty parties is face up, while the other remains down. Or, even worse in his campaign, responsibility never get played.

  • To Anonymous…

Many of the ads are ridiculous — on both sides — and do not state policies. This was perhaps McCain’s worst. Odd that we don’t see Brit in such an uproar over it, however. If McCaine had not included Paris Hilton, would the Hilton clan be in such an uproar over it? I think not.

  • To pebobryson: Dude, I know…..WTF?!?!?

I had no idea that Ted Kaszinski had a son. I can’t wait to hear about the typed manifesto arriving at all the major news centers. LOL

  • Yeah it did get publicity, but not in a good way. The only reason Obama is looked at as a “celebrity” is because it’s the first time there could be a black president and that’s a big deal. And many many young voters 18+ are supporters. So he has a lot more younger voters on his side than older. And John McCain is an old fart, and gets the older, republican votes.

But in the eyes of the Hilton’s, one they basically insulted their daughter which I’m sure they’re mad about but secondly, her parents donated so much money to his campaign so it’s like “this is what you put your money into?, trying to compare Obama to Paris Hilton or Britney Spears?”

McCain is just another Bush. Whether he or anyone else thinks so or not. It was a wrong move, I think.
