“I don’t want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run.”

Jessica Simpson, in a new interview with Elle magazine. The reporter asked her if she’d ever been abused, referring to lyrics in one of her new country songs. The lyrics say “It doesn’t matter how he hurts you, With his hands or with his words, You don’t deserve it, It ain’t worth it, Take your heart and run.”

Why I am certainly 100% in favor of promptly ditching anyone abusive, WTF is Jess referring to here? At what point was she abused? And by whom? Oh, she’s probably talking about John Mayer. There was a time six or seven years ago, where, if I heard “Your Body Is a Wonderland” on the radio one more fucking time I was going to call the police and have ClearChannel charged with abuse. So, I get it, Jess.

  • Check the writing credits – she didn’t write the song. This song isn’t about her, but now she’s making it out to be that she was “harmed” in some way. I’ll harm her, by punching her in the face for insinuating abuse to get some limelight.

  • Do you really think she had anything to do with writing any of the songs on her album? “Take you heart and run,” ugh, how trite. She got called out and did her best to save face.

  • Oooh, Roma, we pretty much wrote the same thing at the same time. We should totally be best friends.

  • And I love how she’s all “I don’t want to talk about it.” Of course she doesn’t, because she knows she didn’t write the damn song and hasn’t experienced any so-called abuse in her posh, privileged life. Unless she’s referring to that time that an entire football team hated her and wanted her to die, but that could hardly be considered abuse.

  • Well even though she didn’t write it, she did you know decide to sing it. So she probably is relating it to some sort of mental abuse… like if a guy she was with called her names bla bla bla. It’s def. not physical, no asshole is dumb enough to beat up jessica simpson. She’s just going with this whole theme to target trailer park women in the south (a lot of which have experienced major abuse). Because we all know she is just trying to make them connect to her in some way. To get their money.

  • Gosh, I’m surprised at these comments. No one out there imagines things might happen behind the scenes for pretty, naive young women in LA? Hello?

  • Papa joe might have abused her……. But I’m just speculating here…

“so….” I really don’t think she is a naive young woman. She knows what she is doing. And papa joe wouldn’t let any of that shit go down anyway….

unless he did it, like stated above….

  • So….., we’re not saying that couldn’t happen to people, we’re just saying she doesn’t write her own stuff, she just sings what is given to her. She’d look more of an idiot if he had of just shrugged when asked the question.

  • She does write some of her songs.. but not all, and will tell you that she didn’t write this song, Rachel Proctor did (and do you know how many artists don’t right their own songs???). There is a story there and she did say that she releated to the song… and she hopes that others will do the same if they get in that situation.

  • I’m sure she thinks Mayer abused her-talked down to her and such. That is why she went brunette when they were together, so she would appear to be more intelligent not some blond bimbo.

  • I dont know what most ppl are talking about in their comments… Jessica Simpson never has anything but good to say about John Mayer. If anyone abused her verbally I would guess it was nick.. Ive seen him yell at her quite a few times and call her stupid on their reality show.
