Steven Tyler: “Uh, Yeah, I Was in Rehab for Drugs”

Despite his earlier claim that he checked into rehab for a foot injury (which you will not find reported on this website, because, unlike CNN, I do the level of fact-checking required to determine that no one goes to fucking rehab because their fucking foot hurts), Steven Tyler is now admitting that he in fact went to rehab to deal with the pill addiction he developed following his foot surgery.

“To have your feet done, to have your leg done, you have to be on narcotics,” Tyler told The Associated Press on Friday. “You have to be on sleep aids at night. I don’t know about Joe (Perry) but I was off and running and I didn’t like the me that was me … This was a month ago, so I just put the brakes on and checked into detox and just pulled the plug on all of it.”

Eh, good for you, Steven. I actually applaud you for dealing with the problem before it got out of hand. So I’m going to give you a limited amount of shit for bothering to lie in the first place. I’m glad you’re doing better now.

  • I’m back from my studies abroad my time overseas was great now I’m not only Mr. NYC……..I’m internationally known bitches….What did I miss?

  • Normal people just take their prescriptions until they are gone and then if they want more the doctor says fuck no. Then you take Tylenol and suffer and there is no rehab. Sigh.

  • Fuck off, Steve Tyler, you croc-wearing motherfucker, no one cares about you any more.

  • I worked with this guy a long time ago when he was an opening act and billed as the new Mick Jagger… well… he was an uppity ego ass then and nothing has changed except he has gotten stranger looking… but I just figured out who he looks like….those flying monkeys in the Wizard of OZ! Now I can relax and hope I never hear about his decadent wasted life again….

  • Well I’m personally glad that Steven checked himself into rehab and admitted that yes he did start to have a problem, and I think thats great because with him being famous I garentee its not easy to live in the spotlight 24/7 and have your personal life out there constantly. I know if I was him i wouldnt have had the courage to put my problems out on the table like that for the whole world to know about, so good for him.
