Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams Break Up

“I mean, God bless The Notebook,” Gosling says. “It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.”

They broke up, is the thing. It’s been a few months. Gosling says it wasn’t the attention that did it, but other than that he doesn’t really know what to say. “The only thing I remember is we both went down swingin’ and we called it a draw,” he says.

The Notebook people have taken it harder. “Women are mad at me,” Gosling says with a rueful smile. “A girl came up to me on the street and she almost smacked me. Like, ‘How could you? How could you let a girl like that go?’ I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad. Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we’re consoling everybody else.”

  • I am always happy when I see people honoring themselves. People come in and out of our lives at the exact time that benefits all. We tend to look too long at the doors that are closed that we miss the abundances right behind us. Endings ARE New Begings, a chance to experience more of who we are. I send loving energy to these two in the hope that they both find Peace and Love in their life again!

  • im glad that their not together rachael mcadams i think deserves better than him because shes way too pretty but if i was rachael i wouldnt want to break up with a man like that because hes way too hot and he looks like a man that i could be together for a long time

  • I’m absolutely glad that they broke up. And get real people The Notebook is my fav movie ever too, but well, i guess i was a lil’ jealous of Rachael McAdams so, but, I LOVE ryan gosling. She looks like she can be snobby in reality lfe……I’m totally in LOVE with Ryan. I’ll build a home for him and hope he findss me just like he did in the movie for Allie.   • okay…i just saw the notebook and it was alright. i mean there are movies that are way better and although ryan gosling is hot i meant josh hartnett and orlando bloom are very good looking but htat doesn’t mean i’m going to obsess about them. not to get people angry or anything is that celebrities are extremely overated. they get payed way too much money and are contributing to the increasing downward spiral of the American Economy (insane movie theatre prices, etc.). just to say as their are extremely hot guys outside where you live that are probably wayyyy hotter than ryan gosling, you just haven’t found them yet. but trust me…you will. good luck!

  • Hayward…you say “And get real people…” i think you really need to get real. no offense but ryan gosling is 15ish years older than you. he is not going to be interested in a 13 year old. when a guys age differance between you and him is older than you, he is wayyy too old for you. btw, i don’t think a publishing company will want to invest in a book about your weird obsession with ryan gosling

    The notebook is a really good film, and I really looooves it.

  • Okay i may be a little late {{or a lot late}} but i can’t believe they actually broke up i love the movie the notebook and they make such a cute couple. Ryan stated that his love life with Rachel was a lot more romantic then in the movie the notebook, well this just proves true love. they made/make the cutest couple. the best advice i could give is for them to follow there hearts and hopefully get back together to show the world what true love looks like……ps. i think you guys would make gorgeous baby’s.

  • They made a really cute couple…but i guess if they were ment to be they would still be together…well unless they gt back together…which i doubt since its been like a year!

  • Recent articles I’ve read say they are back together again and judging by the pictures, it sure looks like it. I saw “The Notebook” it was alright. The idea was cute and all but it is far from a favorite. However I love the idea of couples meeting each other on set (Big fan of Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon… but not Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie…Pitt was already married at the time of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, ugh!) If you think the movie was romantic, and Ryan says him and Rachel’s relationship was even more romantic, I could only imagine what that was like.
    I do not know either of them, but I love the idea of them being together. It just seems right. He seems like an honestly nice and sweet man, and she seems like a fun, sweet outgoing gal. I wish them both the best.

  • i think them meeting was inevitable, they were born in the same hospital, they met, they fell in love on the set of the notebook that is romantic, their off screen real life relationship was even more romantic than the movie according to Ryan and i do believe that, the movie left me wanting more it should have been longer and more detailed i believe maybe flash backs of them getting married and having children. they will meet and date other people but in the end i think that they will get back together because i do believe that you never forget your first love no matter how many years go by, how far away they are, and no matter how your life has turned out in between there is always hope and i am a hopeless romantic

    I have to say that I saw “the notebook” a couple of weeks ago, I loved it…..ryan and rachel are the most beautiful couple ever……
    and they are very good actors too….
    I didn’t know that they were a couple in the reality…and now I’m sad because they are not together anymore……………I truly hope that they fix they problems and be together again, because they look awesome……….

  • i watched this movie in 2009 and i’m impressed by the way rachel and ryan played in it. i had cried 4 times during the watching, and i can say that i was inlove with rachel that moment. she’s a great actress and of course she and ryan got together after such a scenary but i can’t believe they broke up. i don’t know whose fault is but i’m very sorry for them.

  • I read Nicholas Sparks book, “The Notebook” long before I saw the movie. I think Ryan and Rachel did a wonderful job in bringing that story about. I have watched it many times. I am just a Grandma but seeing such a sweet love story and have it end by loving someone until the day you die is a wonderful message, especially in our today world. I think James Garner and Gena Rowland were so good. I don’t think we should be in the business of putting actors together just because they were great in a movie. I with both Rachel and Ryan a lot of luck in the movie and look forward to seeing them in more.

  • I read many of the magazines displaying the movie stars, etc. I wish I could see more pictures of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in them.

    I’m a grandma in the older generation and their acting in the Notebook was superb.

    If I had followed my dream of being an actress,I would have loved to have played Rachel’s part but only if I could have played it as good as she did.

    • She is not wrong…if you read her whole paragraph it says rachael at the top. gena rowland is who played rachael when she got older….did you even watch the movie or pay any attention?
