Deadline is reporting that Jonah will take on the role of Jerry Garcia in a new biopic about the The Grateful Dead, directed by Martin Scorsese.
It is not clear what period of the band’s history the still-untitled movie will dramatize.
The Grateful Dead formed back in 1965 and became one of the key symbols of the counterculture upon releasing a debut album in 1967 that was just as heavy on the members’ love for roots music as the psychedelia of the period.
I am personally stoked for this, since I was lucky enough to see a few Dead shows in the early 90's before Jerry passed away in 1995 and ended the band.

The online edition is already scrapped, but word is they are desperately looking for ways to issue something other than Travis and Kylie for the print version. Which is obviously harder to replace.

RZA will release the graphic novel, “Bobby Digital and the Pit of Snakes” next year, reviving his alter-ego.
The project is a collab with Z2 Comics, and Rizz said in a statement: “The readers are going to be hit with something they never seen coming. Bong-bong.”
He also hinted that he’ll release some sort of new musical recording to go with the publication. The project will be “synced to music that will melt your mind,” the publisher said, and pre-order information touts deluxe editions that come with an “exclusive vinyl music component [to be announced].”

A new Muppet named Ji-Young will make history on the Thanksgiving day episode.
Like many Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, her identity will straddle two cultures, says Alan Muraoka, who plays the owner of Hooper’s Store on the show and is also Asian American.
