Valerie Bertinelli met Eddie Van Halen back stage at a VH concert in 1980. 8 months later they were married. There relationship was full of ups and downs, eventually leading to divorce in 2007. But the two remained bonded by their son, Wolfgang, and always had a loving relationship.
At the time of Eddie’s passing, it was Valerie and son “Wolfie” who were by his side.

Through all your challenging treatments for lung cancer, you kept your gorgeous spirit and that impish grin. I’m so grateful Wolfie and I were able to hold you in your last moments. I will see you in our next life my love.”
