I only mentioned Nick Stahl’s disappearance in passing over the last week through some of our link posts, but seriously, guys, where is this dude? Shit’s starting to get real, and the guy’s been gone without a trace for ten days as of today.

Nick Stahl’s wife did an exclusive interview with People, where she talked about his previous bouts with drug abuse, his former disappearances, and how his young daughter keeps asking for ‘Dada’:

… [On] May 9, Stahl – who has been living apart from Rose with a roommate – went missing when the roommate took a break from their morning meditation session. Nobody has seen the 32-year-old Terminator 3 star since.

“He could have overdosed, that’s one thought. And I’m wondering if there will be a body recovered,” Rose tells PEOPLE.

Rose, 30, reported him missing May 14. Police are not treating the case as a criminal matter and say no foul play is suspected.

His disappearance comes as the pair, who married in 2009, have been coping with a number of domestic problems.

They filed paperwork in early February allowing Rose to keep Nick from seeing their 2-year-old daughter if he fails a drug test, and he had been living away with a male friend since that time. Still, Rose says she does not consider the two of them separated or estranged.

“That was an adult, loving decision that we made to try to inspire his recovery and maybe even scare him away from relapse,” she says.

She adds that Stahl, who at age 13 played opposite Mel Gibson in The Man Without A Face, has struggled with addiction since his teen years, and the problem has become worse than ever for reasons she doesn’t fully understand.

Stahl, who has spoken openly about his problems with drugs and alcohol, has been turning down parts for the past nine months to focus on his recovery, says Rose. But she adds that his recent disappearance has been difficult on the family, including their daughter.

“She asks for dad. ‘Is Dada coming?’ And she worships the ground he walks on,” says Rose. “But I’ve had a lot of people coming over, and I’ve been careful that she not be exposed to too much of my anxiety.”

So, what could have happened? Is he dead? In a private rehab? On the other side of the world? Apparently no one knows, and why you’d leave a child who loves you behind, without any kind of indication as to where you’re going, is just … well, irresponsible. Sources are saying, however, that finding Nick might not be all that far off. TMZ reports that police are pursuing several leads in the missing person case:

The LAPD has received multiple tips in the Nick Stahl missing person case … from people who claim they have spotted the “Terminator 3″ actor since he was reported missing last week.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … investigators have been following up on the leads … but so far, no contact has been made with Nick.

TMZ broke the story … Stahl’s wife filed a missing persons report with the LAPD this week, saying she hasn’t seen or heard from him since May 9th.

UPDATE: Nick Stahl has allegedly reached out to family and friends via email, telling them that he’d be out of contact for thirty days in order to seek intensive rehabilitative treatment for his drug and alcohol abuse issues. However, it’s come to light that Nick’s estranged wife was not one of those to whom the email was addressed.

Photo: Nick Stahl arrested, via a TMZ exclusive!

So, uh, here’s a weird one.

Let me preface by saying I love Nick Stahl. Oh my God, do I loooo-oooove Nick Stahl. He replaced Eddie Furlong as John Connor in Terminator 3, and he is totally terrifying in Sin City. (My mom might remember him, in the meantime, from the maudlin Mel Gibson tearjerker Man Without a Face. She loves that movie.)

So Nick Stahl is pretty cool, but he also made Mirrors 2, which is a polite way of saying, um, maybe he’s a little short on dough.

TMZ:

Nick Stahl found himself a little short on cash Friday night when his cab driver told him his bill was $84… so then Nick Stahl found himself arrested, TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ… when Stahl arrived at his destination, he told the cab driver he just didn’t have the cash or credit to pay the fare. We’re told the cabbie then flagged down a nearby officer, and Nick was arrested.

Stahl was booked at 8:52 AM on Friday and was not released until 3:42 PM the next day, after posting $500 bail.

Ugh, poor Nick Stahl! Totally humiliating!

I have totally done this, you guys. Who hasn’t? Who hasn’t been poor? But like, I have totally phoned a friend—as if life itself were some game show—going, “I will be there in five minutes! Will you meet me outside and spot me a twenty?” and just hoping and praying someone else will pay my cab fare.

Then again, most drivers are willing to let you hop out of the car at an ATM, which—ugh, any way you slice it, poor Nick Stahl.

Also, eighty-five dollars? That’s insane! That’s like if you took a cab from San Francisco to Berkeley, right? I bet this happened in Austin, Texas. You really need a car in that town.

The most horrible part is how it took Nick Stahl 31 hours to get back out of jail. I’m no mathemagician, but it sounds like he had to wait on a Western Union wire from Mom.

Nick Stahl! I am so, so sorry! Unfortunately, this story is hilarious! Chin up, champ.
