A photo of Madonna and Lourdes

Here’s a photo of Madonna and daughter Lourdes at the launch of their new fashion line, and seeing as how these guys are smart designers now,  I just wanted to take a moment to analyze their ensembles.  When I first saw this picture, my first thought was “Oh, that’s nice – Lourdes is a grunge era hooker and Madonna is her no-nonsense, more classy pimp.”  And I stand by that.  If you don’t see it, just take a look at Lourde’s peekaboo flannel and Madonna’s leather gloves.  Now picture a dramatic slow-motion scene (I’m thinking with “Polly” by Nirvana in the background) of Madonna yelling at Lourdes about profits and appearances and “young lady, do you think those torn tights are going to bring in the dough?”  And then you’ll be where I am.

That scenario aside (along with the fishnets and leather gloves), I think Madonna’s dress is actually pretty great, but I cannot get past Lourde’s flannel and studded leather to seriously analyze her style.  What do you guys think?  Does this make you want to buy some clothes these ladies designed?

Guy Ritchie with David Banda and Rocco John

With mom directing her first feature and big sis off blogging her fashions somewhere, little brothers David Banda and Rocco Ritchie were left to spend the day with their dad, director Guy Ritchie. The scene was pretty cute even though one of Madonna’s body guards tagged along for their pasta dinner.

Kind of makes me miss the days when Madge and Guy were an item. Too bad he thinks she’s retarded.

My favorite fashion blogger, Lola Leon, was spotted on the set of one of her mom’s projects in London over the weekend! Look at how fashionable she is! And guys… is that a rasta wristband that she’s wearing? With a big pot leaf on it? Hmmm. I wonder why she’d be wearing something like that…

Lola Leon Starts a Fashion Blog

Madonna’s 13 -ear old daughter Lola Leon has apparently started a fashion blog and you guys, she’s so cool.

Here’s her first post:

Helluuur thurrrr, I’m Lola and this is my first blog entry so it’s kind of like ummmm….I’m just going to use this blog entry to tell y’all a little bit about myself. I’m 13 and I’ll be 14 in October, so I can’t wait for that because I am FINALLY allowed to dye my hair… THANK YOU MOTHER!! My favvvv color is black (just because it goes with everything) and my least favorite color is brown (because it resembles the color of something QUITE gross).

I am totally obsessivo about 80’s shorts… You know the kind that makes your butt look kinda big, with a grunge-looking shirt tucked in. It’s kinda nerdy but I love it. And the 80’s are another huge obsession of mine, which is totally amazingly awesome because Material Girl…HELLO! It’s like 80’s themed, which pretty much rocks, so yeah. I’m still in love with brogues or as some people call them “oxford shoes”. I haven’t found a good sandal so I’m on like a search right now.

I’m in London right now and the best stores ever here,I love the vintage stores down in Whitechapel, also a lot of hot guys hang there just in case y’all care. Music wise My Chemical Romance is THE BEST BAND EVER for realzzzz. They are so awesome it hurts. If you don’t know who they are just… go away OR download their songs.

So, as you may know, Material Girl is coming out soon… HOLLA HOLLA! Ok and this is pretty awesome I will send a FREE t-shirt  to the first person who can  tell me in which big store the opening of Material Girl is….how cool rigghhhhhht???Annnnnnd I am 4 realz excited for the opening which I will give you the exact dates for in my next blog entry, so stay tuned for more.

So I want to know what you guys think about rompers… is that like a hit or miss, ‘cause I’m not sure. If you comment, be sure to tell me what you think.

OK but no joke gladiator sandals are OUT. They came out in summer 2008 and I was like, ok those are really cute. Then 2009 comes around and people are still wearing them so I’m like, ok whatever it’s just a phase. BUT NOOOOO. Because good old 2010 is now coming along and people are STILL wearing them, and then I was just like OK NO! It’s been three years people COME ON!!!!!!!!! I’m just like what????

Ok so I think that is sufficient for my first blog entry and what do you know, it wasn’t all like “ummmmm”. I look forward to writing my second one. Stay tuned if you don’t already think I’m annoying.

XO Lola

Damn. I was in like, 4th grade when Madonna gave birth to this little chicken. At time time everyone was scared that Madonna would raise some batchild or something, but it looks like she bred the perfect little teenaged hipster. HOLLA HOLLA!

So, did you watch last night’s MTV Movie Awards? I flipped back and forth between that and staring at the wall, because the wall was often more entertaining than the show itself (we just had our house perimeter re-mulched and there’s been an ant party in my house for the past few days, and I’ll tell you: it’s just been awesome), but I did catch the kiss between Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson. And though it was a bit contrived, I thought the gesture was cute. It was probably the best, cleanest action that Bullock’s gotten in a few months. Sorry, did I say that? … Yeah, I did. But it’s true.

I’m really glad for Sandra; not only did she receive the “Generation Award” award from the, uh, prestigious MTV Movie Awards committee, she’s coming back out of the woodwork to reclaim her rightful place in the spotlight and trying to put this whole miserable situation behind her. She’s totally a class act — even if she did smooch on my number 2 girl crush, I can forgive her — and I’m happy to see that nothing’s going to knock this super lady down. I also hope, with equal fervor, that Jesse James was watching from his garage, eating cheap Rite-Aid brand chocolates and weeping into the coverall-clad shoulders of his many friends employees. That one was just for you, baby.

The kiss is found at the 4:29 mark. Just about, anyway.

And she’s kind of reminding me more of the original pop tart, Madonna, rather than Lady Gaga.

Aguilera sits down with GQ‘s German version and dishes on motherhood, sex appeal and music. The June issue, now available in select newsstands, features black and white bondage-type photos of the amazing songstress, who discusses life and a newfound confidence after the birth of her son, Max:

“I was never sharper than now, never attractive, sex has always been a big part of me in my work and private. But today I feel better than ever in my skin. And I understand how I get exactly what I want … That’s part of the change of having a child for me – seeing your body do these things you never thought possible. When you have a baby, you go through a period where your body is not your own. It becomes for your child and that’s it. Once you bounce back from that and kind of get your body back … I feel better than ever. It’s a great feeling.”

And naturally, she’s asked about her Lady Gaga similarities:

“That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on,” said the singer, whose new album, Bionic, drops June 8. “I’ve been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself.

Well said, girlfriend. You remind me more of Madonna than anyone else, anyway. And I’d personally rather bang Madonna than Lady Gaga … at least Madonna circa “Material Girl,” rather than now, at any rate.
