Nick Carter: “I Didn’t Attend My Dead Sister’s Funeral.”

Why? Because Nick alleges that his family never told him about it. … I know, right? I just about fell off the f-cking chair, too.

From TMZ:

Nick Carter tells TMZ … he WANTED to attend his sister’s funeral in NY this weekend, but his own family made it impossible for him to be there.

25-year-old Leslie Carter was laid to rest at a small ceremony in Upstate New York this weekend after a suspected prescription drug overdose. Several family members were present at the funeral, including Aaron Carter, but Nick was not.

Nick — who was on the road performing at a concert at the time of the ceremony — tells TMZ, “I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic.”

Nick would not get specific about the circumstances … but sources close to the singer tell TMZ … he feels family members went out of their way to make sure he was not included.

Nick adds, “There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister. I am trying to stay healthy, positive, and focused.”

We called Nick’s sister Ginger Carter for comment — she replied, “That’s not true,” and immediately hung up on us.

Others close to the “star” claim that Nick couldn’t be bothered to attend because he had issues of his own to face – like maintaining his career and selling $12 tickets to his crappy shows. Nick himself recently stated that he wouldn’t put the kibosh on his shitty little tour because he felt that continuing the music is what his late sister would have wanted (aside from, you know, not having mental issues and substance abuse problems and that whole untimely death thing):

“Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform.”

Dude. I believe that like I believe that the Carters, generally speaking, are a stable, upstanding family much like the Lohans.

Bottom line? I think Nick Carter is a full-of-shit piece of shit. Seriously. I’m not sure that I’ve ever heard things so petty or so selfish in my life. Also? The Backstreet Boys sucked – especially you, Nick.

Prescription Drugs May Have Attributed to Leslie Carter’s Death

From TMZ:

Leslie Carter was battling an addiction to prescription medication in the days before her death … and family members believe she died as a result of an overdose.

Sources close to the “House of Carters” reality star tell TMZ … the 25-year-old sister of Nick Carter had recently moved from Canada to Upstate New York to live with family members while she attempted to kick her addiction.

We’re told family members had attempted to rid the home of any prescription medication — including Xanax — and were hopeful Leslie was on the road to recovery.

Sources say family members believed Leslie would be OK to stay alone in the home for roughly an hour yesterday while they ran errands … but when they returned, Leslie was unconscious.

Officials were called to the scene … but Leslie could not be saved.

We’re told Leslie’s 1-year-old daughter was not at home with Carter at the time of her death.

So it gets worse, then, huh? Yesterday when I said that maybe Leslie was the most normal of all of the Carters (and by “normal,” I mean “no addictions” and “maybe has their shit together”), it might appear that I was wrong in making that assumption, and that is sad, man. Is this prescription-medication-addiction thing even larger and more out of hand than anyone really knows?

Yesterday, it was reported that Nick would be cancelling his “tour,” however, a rep for Carter confirmed last night that the information was wrong, and Nick would not be going on hiatus, as the performances would all be dedicated to the memory of his sister:

“Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform.”

So, OK. According to Nick, the show must go on. Because his sister would have wanted it. Does that make Nick Carter stronger than I give him credit for? Because I know if my sibling passed away, the last thing I’d be thinking about – at least for awhile, anyway – would be work. Even if my brother loved my work and it brought him such joy, that work would be there one way or the other after the storm passed. I’m not judging Nick by returning to work so quickly, and I’m not saying that I don’t believe him, either. I’m simply saying that people deal with death (especially the death of close family) in different ways, and while it’s not exactly something that I would do twelve hours after my brother died, it might just be the thing to help Nick keep going.

This thing just gets worse and worse – especially when I think about the little baby girl of Leslie’s that’s been left behind. Such a shame.

Aaron and Nick Carter’s Sister Leslie Dead at 25

From Access Hollywood:

Leslie Carter – the sister of Nick and Aaron Carter – has died, a spokesperson for the Carter family has confirmed to Access Hollywood.

“Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter,” the Carter family said in a statement to Access on Tuesday night. “We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”

Leslie, an aspiring singer, was 25.

She died earlier in the day on Tuesday in upstate New York. No further details on Leslie’s death were immediately available.

In 2008, she married her husband Mike.

In July 2010, Leslie reportedly announced on her Twitter page that she was pregnant with her first child. Leslie reportedly gave birth to daughter Alyssa Jane Ashton on April 1, 2011.

In 1999, Leslie reportedly signed a record deal with Dreamworks Records and began working on a debut album. However, the album was never released.

Her single, “Like Wow!,” was featured on the “Shrek” soundtrack in 2001.

Hm. That really sucks. When I first read the article, I was like, “Wow, those Carters just don’t have good luck with their careers, or staying clean and not looking like a jacked meth-head, or you know, living,” but then I read that she actually had stuff going for her, unlike her two brothers – a husband, a daughter – and that sort of make things even worse. I mean, damn. Her little daughter was only a year old. Not even a year old. That’s just terrible.

No official cause of death has been released, and in response to the news, Nick Carter has cancelled all of his scheduled musical appearances.

What a shame. RIP Leslie Carter.
