1Kylie Minogue Signs to Roc Nation, Remains Flawless

It’s kind of hard to dislike Kylie Minogue. She makes fantastic pop music and has done so for several decades now, does a lot of charity work, overcame cancer, works damn hard and is adorably pint-sized. She’s great – even though The Abbey Road Sessions was a terrible idea. In any case, I’m a fan, which is why it was exciting when Jay-Z announced this week that he’d signed her to Roc Nation.

From Jay’s Life & Times blog:

“Roc Nation would like to welcome Aussie singer, recording artist, songwriter, actress and designer Kylie Minogue to the family. In a career now spanning 25 years, Kylie has released 11 studio albums, two live CDs, eight live concert DVDs, a greatest hits double album, and multiple video packages. She has released over 50 hit singles worldwide, including the Grammy-winning Come Into My World, and has sold more than 68 million albums worldwide. Needless to say, we’re excited to have Kylie join the Roc fam.”

It might seem like an odd pairing, but Jay-Z is known for his eclectic tastes, and this could be amazing. Maybe Kylie will go hip hop! Maybe Jay-Z will become a gay icon! The opportunities are endless.

2A Precious Proposal at A Kylie Minogue Concert!

It’s times like these where I lose hours of my life watching marriage proposal videos on YouTube while my Gay Bar playlist plays faintly in the background. I’m sorry, you’ve never listened to upbeat, mediocre music and watched other people’s happiest moments on the internet while you sit in your pajamas and cry over your own overwhelming loneliness?  Well, excuse the fuck out of me.

3She’s Back, Bitches

Kylie Minogue performed her new single, “All I See,” on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday night.

You know, Madonna gets a ton of credit for being on the scene forever and constantly reinventing herself, but Kylie’s been around forever, too. She’s been through so much shit — including a bout with cancer — and she just keeps getting stronger in the face of it. I love her for that. As a reminder, I’ve also included here the video for “Locomotion,” her first single, which was released in 1987.

15How Fabulous is Kylie Minogue?

On basically anyone else, I would go on a little tirade about the horrendousness of this dress (and the hair!). On Paris Hilton, I would say that she looks like a fly. Or a deformed Mexican fairy.*

But somehow, Kylie pulls it off. She was just blessed with one of those faces that’s strong enough to carry a dress like this.

Seriously, though, kids, this is a Kylie-Minogue-only dress. Do NOT try this at home.

*No offense intended. I love Mexicans. Taco Bell is my favorite!

Woo hoo to Kylie Minogue, who premiered her documentary film, White Diamond, in London on Tuesday.

The film follows Kylie’s battle with and recovery from cancer.

And what better outfit for the occasion than a sparkling white dress.

She looks amazing!

Sister Danni was there as well.
