Pretty much everyone knows that before Katy Perry was singing about getting bi-curious when she’s drunk, she was a Christian singer trying to make it in the religious music world. It was kind of a hot mess, and now a cameraman wants you to see just how much of a mess it was, since he found and released some new footage from her first tour as a Christian artist when she was just a teenager.
Funny enough, it doesn’t seem like Katy has actually changed all that much since 2001. She looks pretty much exactly the same, although her skin has obviously lost the teenage acne sheen we are all familiar with. Her personality is pretty much the same, as well – she’s pretty endearing (and yes, incredibly corny).
What do you think of Christian Katy?

Guys, I’m sick of the ice bucket challenge. I realize it’s for a good cause and that ALS deserves more attention/money for research and treatment, but can’t we all just DONATE MONEY instead of drawing attention to ourselves by pouring buckets of water over our heads? I dunno, I’m just feeling a little exhausted of it all – it’s like posting pictures of yourself without makeup on Facebook “for cancer”. Definitely helping a lot of people, I’m sure.
In any case, Katy Perry is the most recent celebrity to take part in this trendy charity thingymabob and she actually took it to the extreme, using ACTUAL ICE in her bucket, unlike some people – no names mentioned, but apparently there have been stories about some participants using warm water which, you know, completely defeats the supposed purpose. Below is Queen Katy taking on the challenge because the site I was the founding editor of challenged her to do it. There’s also a little vid of her hanging out in a pool with her gays, because why not?

You’d think Katy Perry was 10 years younger than she actually is, but I assure you, she is indeed about to turn 30 come October. Still, this seemed as good a time as any for her to get her nose pierced, I suppose, and she posted a video of the experience on Instagram this weekend for all to see.
Check this out:
Katy also offered an apology to her mom, who was no doubt doing the sign of the cross and praying for her salvation (as she’s been doing since 2007 or whatever year Katy released ‘I Kissed a Girl’, lolz).
Last time I did this I was on my own with a safety pin & cube of ice @ 13. This time I thought it was best I left it to the pro’s. Sorry mom (again)
Nose piercings are alright – I had mine done (and my labret) when I was about 18, but I got rid of them a few years later. Katy’s blossoming a bit late in life, but let’s let her follow her path to self-discovery.

Iggy Azalea is THE WORST and pretty much everything wrong with the world, but people seem to really love her despite her racist and homophobic bullshit, so there’s that. ‘Fancy’ has become the unofficial song of the summer to some, she’s had massive success as a featured artist on Ariana Grande‘s hit single ‘Problem’, and now she’s about to release a new track with Rita Ora called ‘Black Widow’, which was written by none other than Katy Perry. Considering it has a super ‘Dark Horse’ vibe, I’m not at all surprised.
From Mix FM:
“Katy Perry said to me, ‘Hey I’ve got this song, I’ve been writing and I think you should do it. I just keep picturing you on it,’” Iggy explains to ABC News Radio. “That’s how my collaboration with her kind of began: first we had a friendship and then she wrote something that she had me in mind for. And, being that her album was already out, I said, ‘Will you let me have this for my album?’” Iggy laughs, “And she did me the kindness!”
I’m sure this will be a hit and everything, but Katy, come on girl. Get some standards.

Katy Perry is still chugging along on the Prismatic World Tour, and this week she’s stopped by Philadelphia to give them a wild ride through her crazy ass live show. Afterwards, she actually came out to meet some of her beloved KatyCats… while wearing a pepperoni pizza onesie. How quirky?
I’m all for Katy’s kid-like, nostalgia-laced, florescent nonsense, but a long-sleeved pepperoni pizza onesie in August? Girl, no hipster bullshit is worth overheating. Not feeling this at all. It’s too hot!

I love Katy Perry‘s brand of kitschy, in-your-face florescent weirdness. It’s something I enjoy greatly, and by that measure, I should really love her new video for ‘This Is How We Do’, but… I don’t. I think it’s all over the place and it looks cheap and I’m just not sure what to make of it. Also, she’s still on her cultural appropriation grind, which is getting into overkill mode at this point. Eh, not the biggest fan of this. Still love her, though.
