Can Mel Gibson Make a Comeback?

ARTICLE-spl1346159_006 Mel Gibson took a career even the most accomplished actors would envy and threw it in the toilet when he revealed his violent and anti-semitic side ten years ago.  Some said, (and some still say), he can never recover from the vial words we heard him call his wife or the flippant "Sugar tits" he hurled at a female law enforcement officer. Fast forward to this weekend at the Venice Film Festival where his newest film, Hacksaw Ridge, made it's out-of-competition debut.  And while the WWII dra...

Own a Piece of Real Estate History!

One of the most expensive homes in country (or world) is the one time residence of William Randolph Hearst—whose life inspired Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane—purchased the home for his long-time lover, the actress Marion Davies, and christened it Beverly House. Hearst actually died in the home in 1951. Beverly House has been on the market a few times for as much as $135,000,000.  But the current owner is in debt on the home and trying to crowdfund the $40mm he needs to pay the banks.  Investors willing to pony up a minimum of $125,000 for a "Unit" of the house will receive a guaranteed 5 percent return on their investment, with the potential to get up to a 20 percent return. Assuming the house sells. Oh, and the house was also used in the famous "horse head" scene in the movie The Godfather. That's some pedigree. Here's what you'll get: 19+ bedrooms, 40 bathrooms, a nightclub, Harry Potter-esque library, and two screening rooms on a mind blowing 50,000,000-square-foot estate.   screenshot-www.curbed.com 2016-09-02 08-52-02One of the most expensive homes in country (or world) is the one time residence of William Randolph Hearst—whose life inspired Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane—purchased the home for his long-time lover, the actress Marion Davies, and christened it Beverly House. To be fair, Rihanna didn't get Drakes name or anything. Instead a cute little camo colored shark.  Here's the deal... So last month, while still deep in the closet, Rihanna and Drake were on a covert date at an aquarium in Toronto. (Remember Drake is a Canadian)  As any gentleman would, Drake got his...

Bill Nye ‘The Science Guy’ Getting New Netflix show

screenshot-flipthemoviescript.com 2016-09-01 12-33-47 For many people growing up, Bill Nye was a user friendly bridge into the amazing world of science. I had Mr Wizard, kids today (as well as me) have Neil deGrasse Tyson or Michio Kaku. People with profound gifts for making the complicated not only understandable, but riveting. So I couldn't be more excited about the bingeable science shows announcement. Netflix promises to preserve Nye's “unfiltered style” while using interviews and experiments to educate viewers on everything from cli...

Film About McQueen and Isabella Blow in the Works

screenshot-img3.hungertv.com 2016-09-01 08-03-46 A new drama is being made about Alexander McQueen and his muse and patron, the famously eccentric fashion editor Isabella Blow.  Produced by Maven Pictures, The Ripper will explore the pair’s relationship which was, at times, tumultuous. Blow was credited with discovering McQueen and giving him his first foray into the public eye, and in return she served as his constant muse and confidant. But two extremely strong willed, creative and ... "unconventional" personalities made for a lot of headbut...

Chloe Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham SPLIT

screenshot-www.dailymail.co.uk 2016-09-01 08-38-32 I am heartbroken.  I loved this couple. She's just the best young hollywood has to offer and he's just a really down to earth kid with his daddy's smile.  To make matters worse, they only "came out" a few months ago on instagram b/c they had always feared going public would cause trouble with paps and nudnicks wanting to blog about them. heh hem. Together since last year (and briefly in 2014) the couple are said to have split at some point over 'the past few weeks' when Brooklyn was in L...

Bob Ross’ Iconic Hair Was All A LIE!

screenshot-pixel.nymag.com 2016-09-01 08-19-08 Kinda. So it turns out the most famous head of hair since Bob Marley was not all we assumed it was. Bob Ross, the much beloved painter who whispered while he worked on his PBS show (403 episodes, to be exact) actually has straight hair.  The iconic "fro" as a result of Ross coming home from serving in the Airforce and just not wanting to maintain a cut. So he had it permed and the rest, as they say, is hairstory.  ba-dum-dum. Once Ross' curly afro became a part of his small-screen identity...

Drew Barrymore launches home decor collection

Drew Barrymore is getting in on the branding business, with the launch of her first home decor collection. Whats curious to me is her choice of where to sell it. I mean we all know Target and H&M have the high end designer market cornered, no doubt. But tell Kohls wouldn't be thrilled to get a Barrymore bedspread on the shelves?  Instead, the bohemian beauty is selling her wears via Shutterfly.com. As in the online photo processing company. Peculiar choice, but either way, her little collection was born and can be purchased right now. Everything from Picture frames to pillows to shower curtains. “As I started throwing inspiration ideas around with the Shutterfly designers, I was also starting the process of redoing my own bedroom," she said. "I found this piece of fabric at the Rose Bowl that really inspired me, and ultimately, ended up setting the entire tone for my room." capture2_fec307646512c3acc83f8c3b8bee30d4.today-inline-largeDrew Barrymore is getting in on the branding business, with the launch of her first home decor collection. Kim and Kanye’s Free Manhattan Penthouse

Yesterday Kim K posted a picture of herself crashed out on a balcony sofa and the phrase "Just checked into our NYC penthouse. Thanks @airbnb for the gift of our home away from home."  In exchange, she and Kanye get to live there, rent free, for two months. The property usually rents for $100k a month. Seems fair... sigh. But seriously, this place is insane. It's 7,100 sq ft, with 4,300 of that being outdoor space spread out over SEVEN terraces. One of which has a gorgeous pool. Absolutely staggering amenities for a Manhattan apartment. Shit even for the entire building, let alone one residence. Five bedrooms, 6 bath and a private, key op elevator. In exchange for a single IG post. The hot prop is being shopped on Douglas Elliman for $24,500,000, but I imagine all showings are on pause while the West's are in place. Once the Pablo tour and Fashion Week are over they'll crawl back to LA and sales can bring their Russian billionaires through.
