Kate Beckinsale’s Dog Has a Bone to Pick With Her

FP_IMAGE_4054924/FP_SET_4052348

Wait until PETA gets ahold of this!  Kate Beckinsale spent hours — it takes time to look as good as she does — in the Byron Tracy salon in L.A. last week while her dog was outside, locked in the car.  The poor harnessed pooch didn’t have any water and all the windows were rolled up according to the photographers who snapped these pics.  Can a dog die this way?  I know that it’s not the best idea for toddlers.  And, does it seem like Kate really cares?  If I had highlights like those, I’m not sure I would either.  Priority:  Hair.  Secondary:  Dog.  (Before you start sending me “You and Michael Vick are Made for Each Other” hate mail, that’s sarcasm.)

This incident comes a little over a month after the actress was seen picking up the same dog by his leash.  Of course, her hair looked great then too!

      • No, the sarcasm explanation was to apply to the entire paragraph. Not just the last sentence. Do you really think she’d be even discussing the dog being left in the hot car if she wasn’t aware that the heat could kill it? Jeez.

  • Wow, first to comment! Anyway, is it just me, or has Rihanna gone comppletely nuts- all her outfits and her makeup post Chris Brown looks bizarre as hell- I think she needs to be seeing a counselor if she’s not already.

  • okay first thing- her hair and outfit look pretty amazing.
    2. um that dog is adorable
    3. yeah she IS a dildo for leaving the dog in the car. WTF, moron? not even with the windows cracked? what a dumbass.
that doggie is soooo cute =)

  • Why hasn’t anyone tried to take her dog away?! That is absurd! I once saw a dog in a car with no cracked windows when I went to wal-mart for a big grocery shopping for a party. It took about an hour, I came back and saw the pooch was still in the car! (It was about 97*), I called the animal shelter and they came and took the poor thing.

She is absurd. I don’t give a damn if she is the “sexiest woman alive”. She needs to realize that is a living creature and her looks really should come second to that little pooch.

I dislike people like her. :c

  • She deserves at least some ruined upholstery for that. She will definitely be getting GRRRRs from the PETA magazine next issue.

  • Bah! This is crazy. Why didn’t the paps call the SPCA? By the way, does anyone know what kind of dog that is? It’s perfectly adorable and there may be one going up for adoption in the near future.

  • So why can’t the dog stay home.. I mean he needs water, to poop and pee and have a nice place to play and run and sleep? Is she hoping a bad thing will happen and they won’t give her another pet, because she certainly does NOT want to have a pet!!

  • Judging by her outfit (a warm coat and a scarf), I don’t think heat exhaustion/death would have been a factor. HOWEVER, she should have at least cracked the windows so he could have some fresh air and put one of those travel water bowls in there. It doesn’t matter what temperature it is outside, I wouldn’t make my dog lie in the car for hours. :/ That’s just rude.

  • love those boots!!! and the dog doesnt look like hes having a hard time, believe me ive seen dogs going crazy because the’re locked in, these one looks like he doesnt care

  • The local Humane Society should have been called so they could take the dog and ticket the dumb bitch (the two legged one).

Side note: I live in a part of the country that really gets cold. Four seasons and the whole bit. I look at the fashions of the various Hollywood types in the gossip blogs and get confused. Why the hell do y’all in southern California wear boots and scarves…..ever? Is it considered a “cold wave” if the temp dips to 70 degrees? I’m not picking on you guys since actually I am quite jealous. But, still, seeing chicks wearing Ugg boots, shorts (or a bath towel dress) in the middle of summer in sunny Los Angeles makes me shake my head. All I can think is OMG the smell when they come off those pretty little feet!

    • I live in CA and it is definitely considered cold if it drops below 70! LOL!! If it gets below 50, we consider hibernation.

Also, CA is deceptive in that just because the sun is out does not mean it is warm. It always looks nice outside, but you actually have to go out to see what the weather is really like, and it can change very quickly. If this was in the last week, it definitely wasn’t hot enough to hurt the puppy. I have left my dog in the car before, cause he’s not always welcome in stores, and he was fine.

  • the peta animal lovers still sound irritated because wendie took her to task. lame.

it’s people who like having animals for show, but don’t give much thought to their comfort and well being. it’s a cute dog, but if you’re not going to be nice to it, why have one? she seems self absorbed really, like this dog is an afterthought. but this shit happens all the time. i see people leaving their dogs tied up outside of grocery stores. you know you can’t bring them in and does it ever occur to these clowns that whoever would want to could walk up and take the dog if they really wanted to. it’s stupid.

and these are probably the dog lovers who would cry if they came out and fido was missing. get a clue.

  • all okay comments.. i get where u r all goin. But im pretty sure the dog survived..and besides.. who would even think about the dog with her around. haha i know i wouldn’t..and I’m an animal lover myself. And its not like u people haven’t made mistakes before.. so i dont see how u can say shit all. And she must really love the dog’ but u know how it is..well maybe u dont cuz u dont know what its like to be a celeb, well my point is that celebrities get tied up in doing other important things that they forget about some of the little things that they must do. sadly..:( but go figure.. nobody is perfect. :P

  • 1.) I think this is a yorkie-chihuahua mix puppy, maybe four months old
2.) Likely it took her two+ hours to get her hair done, which is too long to leave a pet in the car, especially without the windows cracked open.
3.) She easily could have asked a salon assistant to go out and check on it and give it a little walk.. she’s an A-lister after-all.
4.) There is doggie day care available in L.A… I know she can afford it.

  • Shame. shame. Do not EVER leave a dog in the car!! She doesn’t deserve a dog. It is part West Highland White Terrier. Maybe the other is poodle.
