Freddie Mercury’s belonging going to auction

Queen front man Freddie Mercury died at the age of 45 back in 1991. At that time he left all his possessions with his dear friend Mary Austin.

Austin, who has kept Freddies items just as he left them in his home in the upscale Kensington neighborhood of London, said she had reached the “difficult decision” that it was time to sell it all, Sotheby’s said.

There will be a LOT of high ticket items for Freddie personal memorabilia as well as his extensive art and designer treasures.

“I like to be surrounded by splendid things. I want to lead a Victorian life, surrounded by exquisite clutter.” – Freddie Mercury.

The auction is at Christies in September 2023. Here are a few items coming to the block.

The crown and accompanying cloak that Mercury wore while singing “God Save the Queen” during his final tour with Queen. ESTIMATE $75,000 – $100,000.
