I’m not sure how I missed this, but it’s come to my attention that the asshats running the Grammys list the great Virgil Abloh as a “Hip Hop Fashion Designer” during Sunday’s ceremony.
Let me be very clear. Virgil Abloh sat at the top of the designing world has the creative director of Louis Vuitton.
This is the most coveted job in fashion and pigeonholing Virgil as a designer of hip hop wear or something like that is an insult.
Luxury clothing like LV may be a symbol in the hip hop world, but the reverse can not be said. LV shares the spotlight with no one and Virgil doesn’t either.
I’m expecting an apology.
