So I’m not thrilled about this, but it could be worse. It seems the executive producer of the show, Mike Richards, who had a 2 week stint among a bevy of other guest hosts, will be the new official host of the show.
According to Variety Richards is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Sony Pictures Television.
Richards wasn’t my first choice (Ken Jennings was) but truth is, his resume is kind of perfect.
He’s hosted game shows before … “Divided” and “The Pyramid” for Sony Pictures’ GSN cabler. He’s also produced more than 4,000 hours of game shows.
No word on when the official announcement will come from Jeopardy or when Richards will take the helm, but I suspect he’ll start in September when a new season would traditionally start.
