There is no single cartoon that set the stage for The Simpsons, Family Guy and all other adult cartoons, more than the classic ‘The Flintstones’. And I am sooo excited to see how this unfolds.
For starters, the project comes from Elizabeth Banks. Yea, that Elizabeth Banks. Actress, director extraordinaire.
Word is Banks will voice a grown up ‘Pebbles’.
It comes ten years after Seth MacFarlane developed a reboot of The Flintstones at Fox although it did not go forward.
Called ‘Bedrock’, it will follow the Flintstone family two decades after the original, with Fred on the brink of retirement and 20-something Pebbles embarking on her own career. As the Stone Age gives way to a shiny and enlightened new Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock will find this evolution harder than a swing from Bamm-Bamm’s club.
I can not wait to get a cast listing for this. Liz has some deep connections. And speaking directly to Elizabeth: There is no show without Kazoo the Martian.
