I know I know, you have no idea who Chico DeBarge is. But if you were around in the 80’s, you had to know him. Or at least the group he and his siblings had called El Debarge. So it’s sad to see him taking a dive this way.
Chico has been reportedly charged with drug possession, DUI and false impersonation after pretending to be his brother James during a traffic stop.
The R&B musician, 54, was pulled over in Burbank, California, last week for driving without his headlights on at night and not having license plates, according to TMZ.
However, when he allegedly failed to produce any form of identification, the website reports that he told officers he was his 57-year-old brother James.
TMZ reports that Chico, who is said to have been driving with two female passengers, was found to have ‘methamphetamines and heroin on him during a search’.
They didn’t find out who he really was until he was at the station being booked.
