Rapper Logic buys Charizard card at auction for $180k+

Some hip hop stars like to buy mansions, some get a fleet of Bucati’s and others… rather, one other, decided to get a Pokemon trading card.   Have at it.

last Friday, a rare Charizard went up for auction. Called the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s “crown jewel” by Iconic Auctions, the starting bid was set at $40,000. When the smoke cleared, the gem-mint first-edition went for $183,812. The buyer? None other than the rapper named Logic.

For Logic, born Sir Robert Bryson Hall II in 1990, it was an opportunity to live out his childhood dreams.  Seriously. This is really sweet.

“When I was a kid I absolutely loved Pokémon but couldn’t afford the cards,” Logic wrote on Instagram. “I remember even trying to trade food stamps for theirs and now as an adult who has saved every penny he has made being able to enjoy something that I’ve loved since childhood now as a grown man is like buying back a piece of something I could never have, it’s not about the material it’s about the experience.”
