Look, I know no one’s been checking for Stacey Dash since the mid-’90s when Clueless was hot, and it’s safe to say she’s been a scorching fucking mess for well over the past decade, but sometimes I literally have to sit in awe at the shit that comes out of this woman’s mouth. Fine, she’s conservative — knock yourself out. But to have so much internalized hatred of herself as a woman, in particular a black woman, and so much externalized hatred of, well, basically everyone that isn’t a rich white Republican dude, is just bonkers to me. That being said, I do find her rant about Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Oscar winning speech pretty hilarious because it’s so ridiculous.
Basically, she thinks he totally deserved to win the Oscar (though she later admits that she didn’t even see it, so how she came to that conclusion, I truly don’t know), but she wishes he didn’t have to spout so much crazy bologna about global warming, since that’s totally fake!
Here’s what Dash wrote on her blog:
Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar was truly a well deserved win. DiCaprio’s speech, you could tell, was planned ahead of time. He knew he had it. Though I’ve not seen his film yet, I hear it’s great.
But this part of his speech was too much:
“Climate change is real, it is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people out there who would be most affected by this. For our children’s children, and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed.
He reminds me of Chicken Little, the bird who ran around the neighborhood and disturbed everyone “with her foolish alarm.” Before making a speech the world would hear, he should have double checked his facts.
She goes on and on from there, but I’ve already wasted too much bandwidth in reprinting even the above. Any grown woman (or man) with a functioning brain who tries to claim that global warming isn’t extremely real literally deserves to be permanently put on mute. I mean obviously this isn’t even the most ridiculous thing she believes, to be honest, but nevertheless… how can one person be so stupid?
She went from being forgotten after Clueless to making headlines saying stupid shit. I doubt she will ever stop having controversial opinions for is she did she would fade back into obscurity.
Chris Rock introduced her at the Oscars just to show what an ass she is when she opens her mouth. She did not disappoint.
