Anyone who makes a living out of getting repeatedly punched in the head for several decades can’t be expected to have much common sense, so it’s not really any surprise that Mike Tyson has quite a few screws loose. He’s an ear-biting, pigeon loving lunatic, and generally this is harmless and pretty amusing. However, it’s also a bit worrying at times, like when he publicly comes out in support of Donald Trump for president. Uh, what?
In an interview with Huffington Post Live, Mike said that he thinks Donald’s a good candidate for the highest office in the land because then America can be “run like a business” and racism magically won’t exist. Because, you know, Donald Trump isn’t one of the most racist men on the planet.
“He should be president of the United States. Let’s try something new. Let’s run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job.”
So how does Tyson react to Trump’s endless tirades about Mexicans? Oh, he’s just misunderstood!
“I don’t think he thinks of Latinos in that way. I really don’t believe that. He’s a businessman. He’s just saying what the people want and the people want to hear that. If you believe that he believes that, you have to believe that most of the country believes that because they’re voting for him.
“I don’t believe 90 percent of the country believe Latinos that were born here and their parents are illegal got to go. It hasn’t happened yet.”
God help us all. Seriously.
