Lamar Odom Will Survive With Months Of Rehab

lamar odom

It was good news when Lamar Odom woke up on Friday after several days in a coma. As we all know by now, he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Tuesday from what’s believed to be a pretty serious drug overdose that caused him to experience several strokes and a possible heart attack. It was touch and go for a while there and at one point doctors believed he might not make it, but he made a rather lucky escape and will indeed recover, albeit with a lot of rehab and hard work ahead of him.

From TMZ:

Doctors are telling Lamar’s friends and family rehabilitation will take many months, and they believe an undetermined amount of damage to his body will be permanent.

We’re told Lamar will have physical, speech, and other therapists working with him for the foreseeable future.

As for Khloe, our sources say she has vowed to stay with him through the entire ordeal … and that includes all therapy.

She has kept a constant vigil by his bedside so far and she is determined to see this through.

I suppose there’s no other circumstance that will reveal your true feelings about someone more than this, so I understand Khloe’s decision to stand by him. Whether he “deserves” it or not based on all he put her through – the lies, the cheating, etc – is beside the point. It’s hard to say whether this will rekindle a romantic relationship between the two but it stands that they’re still married and she still cares about him, and he’s going to need all the support he can get over the coming months.

I really hope he learns from this and doesn’t take life for granted anymore. Addiction is a very terrible illness, and I hope he finds the strength to beat it for good and really value the gift of survival.

  • Despite Lamar Odom being a complete reprobate, Chloe is probably doing the right thing for the moment. He’ll end up like Steven Adler, whose poor speech habits got worse with some sort of neurological damage from a similar event. But he did recover, plays, does interviews, etc. Not a bad person but a complete slave to his demons.
