Woody Allen Says He’s Not a Child Molesting Pervert

woody allen

In the letter we all knew was coming, Woody Allen took to The New York Times‘ Sunday Review to go on and on about how innocent he is in the Dylan Farrow sex abuse scandal in a way that is not at all convincing. Sure, Allen can spin a yarn and has all the fancy words to proclaim what an upstanding guy he is, but being well-spoken doesn’t erase the fact that he’s a child molester. I’m sorry, but it doesn’t. I don’t care that a court never prosecuted him – that trial was FULL of bullshit errors on many levels and certainly a miscarriage of justice does not an innocent person make.

Here’s a tiny bit of his piece (though you can read the full thing here):

TWENTY-ONE years ago, when I first heard Mia Farrow had accused me of child molestation, I found the idea so ludicrous I didn’t give it a second thought. We were involved in a terribly acrimonious breakup, with great enmity between us and a custody battle slowly gathering energy. The self-serving transparency of her malevolence seemed so obvious I didn’t even hire a lawyer to defend myself. It was my show business attorney who told me she was bringing the accusation to the police and I would need a criminal lawyer.

Well, there’s the first lie. Mia never told police what happened, a medical examiner was bound by law to report the crime to police. This Vanity Fair piece is fantastic and well-worth a read – it covers actual FACTS about the trial, not just Allen’s bullshit.

I naïvely thought the accusation would be dismissed out of hand because of course, I hadn’t molested Dylan and any rational person would see the ploy for what it was. Common sense would prevail. After all, I was a 56-year-old man who had never before (or after) been accused of child molestation. I had been going out with Mia for 12 years and never in that time did she ever suggest to me anything resembling misconduct.

Uhh… except THAT’S A LIE TOO – as per Vanity Fair:

Allen had been in therapy for alleged inappropriate behavior toward Dylan with a child psychologist before the abuse allegation was presented to the authorities or made public. Mia Farrow had instructed her babysitters that Allen was never to be left alone with Dylan.

In his 33-page decision, Judge Wilk found that Mr. Allen’s behavior toward Dylan was “grossly inappropriate and that measures must be taken to protect her.” The judge also recounts Farrow’s misgivings regarding Allen’s behavior toward Dylan from the time she was between two and three years old. According to the judge’s decision, Farrow told Allen, “You look at her [Dylan] in a sexual way. You fondled her . . . You don’t give her any breathing room. You look at her when she’s naked.”

Ah yes, that sounds something a total non-child molester would do! Totally normal! Fuck off with your bullshit, Woody Allen. You can read the whole things at the above links, but it’ll enrage you, I’m sure. Way to try and use the “psycho bitch ex is trying to destroy me” defense, as well. It’s always those sneaky, bitchy women who can’t handle being broken up with in favour of their teenage daughter who you’ve been molesting for years! Fuck this whole thing, man.

    • This guy did a documentary on Allen and seems to have gotten pretty friendly with him, so I don’t know if this qualifies as a fairer summation. It’s just a choice now on who you choose to believe.

  • He protests too much. All this back and forth about who’s the worse is useless. You took naked pictures of a young girl and married her later who was the daughter of a woman you spend 12 years with, that says it all about your character. I would be pissed off too and send you pictures with my heart stabbed for all the pain you caused, no more crazy than what you did. You can pass a lie detector test if you truly believe you’re in the right, and I think that’s how you passed the test. I believe Dylan, you can pay off the shrinks but you can’t pay off her.

  • Here’s the thing: If it did happen, it is terrible. However, if Mia Farrow had really noticed inappropriate behavior since Dylan was 2, why did she allow it to continue for a good 4-5 years? I don’t know a single parent who would overlook such a thing.

Second, Mia Farrow is still great friends with Roman Polanski. Child abuse is child abuse. You don’t get to pick and choose when it’s ok because it isn’t your child who is involved.

Last, the Allens and the Farrows all need to pack it in. A public forum isn’t really the place to rehash terrible family issues.

    • Exactly! whether it is true or not, if she was that uncomfortable that she made him go to a shrink and warned babysitters about him, then why would she ever allow her kids to be around him?!

    • We really need to question why Mia Farrow is associated with so many child molesters. What the heck is going on? Most mothers I know will cut men who are even close to child molesters completely out of their lives and will never look back. Why is she so “open minded”?

I think any woman who would consider dating Woody has a screw loose. He’s a neurotic little wierdo. He is the ultimate proof that psychotherapy doesn’t work. Why has he made no progress after a lifetime of therapy?

      • Marrying your own adopted daughter? He’s sick. That’s major boundary crossing. It’s entirely inappropriate. There are plenty of women on the planet. He could have found an adult female to whom he is not a parent.

He will never convince me that he is NOT a pedophile for that FACT.

      • Well, it actually wasn’t his a adopted daughter. Her parents were Mia Farrow and Andre Previn. Not that it makes it any less creepy, but technically he was in no way biologically or legally her father.

Maybe Mia should have stopped gallivanting around with all the married men and focused on the fact that she was letting all of her children be exposed to a possible predator.
