Is Tim Burton Directing ‘Beetlejuice 2’?

Everyone loves Beetlejuice, right? Like, it’s a movie that still holds up after all these years and makes great background viewing every time it comes on TBS kinda thing? Well, get yourself ready, because apparently Tim Burton is in talks to direct a second installment of the movie, with Michael Keaton reprising his lead role. Bring it on!!

From The Wrap:

Tim Burton’s involvement in “Beetlejuice 2? is no longer a rumor, as he’s officially in talks to direct the sequel for Warner Bros., multiple individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.

Michael Keaton is expected to reprise his role as the titular fast-talking, black-and-white stripe-wearing ghost with the most.

The Geffen Company, which produced the 1988 classic, will produce the sequel with Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions. Grahame-Smith, who penned the Burton-produced adaptation of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter,” wrote the script that Warner Bros. has confidence in.

Well, we’ll see what becomes of that one. I’m not a Tim Burton fan at all, to be honest, but I did like some of his earlier stuff like Beetlejuice (and Edward Scissorhands, obviously). Also, have any of you ever sat and thought about what a hilarious name “Edward Scissorhands” actually is? I just did, and I’m cracking up.
