In what is a bit of happier news, I suppose, the reports were correct and Halle Berry married her longtime fiance and father of her miracle baby Olivier Martinez at Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France on Saturday. It was a small, chill ceremony and some sneaky paparazzo took the image above while hiding in some bushes, I suppose, and then sold it to US Weekly, who published the following:
Sources tell Us that the bride and groom first exchanged vows in a civil ceremony performed by a local mayor at around 4:15 p.m., and then had a religious ceremony in the chapel on the grounds of the Chateau at 5:30 p.m.. Around 60 guests, including Martinez’s brother, Vincent, and mother, Rosemarie, were in attendance.
“White marquees were put up, and everyone was very discreet because it was a show business wedding,” a local tells Us of the nuptials, which also made use of several white limousines. “But generally it was pretty down-to-earth.”
Which is not to say it wasn’t a great party. Following the ceremony in the chapel, wedding guests enjoyed a celebratory dinner, followed by a fireworks display and dancing. “They all partied long into the night,” a source tells Us, noting that the music could be heard until around 1 a.m. local time.
I doubt Halle did all that much “partying” considering she’s getting well into her second trimester of pregnancy, but I’m sure it was a lovely time and congrats to them, etc.
