Allow the family drama to commence.

The latest report comes from Stallone cousin, Edd Filiti (and no, I don’t know why he spells Ed with two ‘d’s either), who says that Sage and his father had experienced some kind of falling out in the weeks prior to Sage’s untimely death, and that contact was made via Facebook to Sylvester’s current wife, Jennifer Flavin. From Celebuzz:

The son of Sylvestor Stallone was “depressed” in the days before his death because his Hollywood superstar father hadn’t returned phone calls he’d left him wishing him a happy 66th birthday, he told other family members.

“Sage was not allowed in his father’s home and he admitted to other family members of his devastation that he’d seemingly been cut out of his father’s life,” a family friend revealed to Celebuzz.

“Sage idolized his father but they had become estranged in recent time. It crushed him.”

The family friend (Edddddddddddddddddddd) claimed that he’d reached out to Flavin and Stallone, and told them exactly what he thought of their son-avoidance. From Facebook:

Jennifer, I’m glad your stepmother workload has lessened, one less member of the family to keep away, one less distraction, its a good thing you have all that makeup to hide your real face, you people make me f-cking sick, your , facebook publicist thanked everyone for wishing my uncle a happy birthday, but neither you or he could return a phonecall, which is all he wanted, his father. I know you dont care what happened, but you’ll care when your squirming under the burning magnifying glass of public opinion

Serious stuff, guys.

  • I always thought Sly was a heartless monster during his highly publicized cheating on his first wife who had two small children at home, one of them was Sage, so it wouldnt suprise me if it is true that sly cut Sage out of his life.
Especially the timing of Sage’s death was exactly one week after Sly’s birthday they found Sage dead.

  • But how sad is that? Can you imagine what a big shadow that man must have cast over his son? Of course he probably idolized him. But when you have that kind of power over someone, you have to be pretty careful. What could the poor kid have done to have warranted complete rejection?

Drugs probably, but I agree with Edd, a phone call would have been appropriate. You don’t have to cut off all contact with a loved one being employed by an addiction. A little reassurance that you still love them even though you won’t put up with their behavior anymore.

Oh boy, I just had a flash to that movie Monster Ball, when the son, played by Heath Ledger, kills himself right in front of the Dad after proclaiming that he knows his dad hates him, but that he never stopped loving his dad. RIP poor young man.

  • Yes,kudos to EDD for speaking up.
I can’t stand Arnold or Sly at at all, both hideous plastic faced cheaters. Why do we as the public watch these train wrecked wrinkled ruins like Sly and Arnold?
    Rest in Peace Sage.

  • I saw the photos of sly at the funeral and in my opinion he did not look “devestated”.. I also saw the last photo taken of sage and he looked depressed and his patio had a old worn out chair with a old table next to it. The poor guy has a dad worth billions who could have helped him, but was too busy with his trophy wife and new family. Even if sly cut him off because of drugs, that is no way to treat family.. The least he could have done is return the call.
The time of sages death is exactly one week after slys birthday.
Seems to me it is a pretty good indicator of how sage was feeling if ed’s statements are true about sly not returning sages phone calls.

  • MONEY IS THE ROOT TO ALL EVIL IT TRULY DESTROYS RELATIONSHIPS..AND MOST OF ALL LOVE…THIS IS TRAGIC…DO UNTO OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT OTHERS TO DO UNTO YOU”….THEN ASK YOURSELF HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR LOVED ONE TO CUT YOU OFF,,

    • Look ya simpleton….. If you’re going to quote biblical scripture, quote it properly. The passage says: The love of money is the root of all evil, fuckin imbecile!

  • So very sad!!! I truly believe what goes around comes around and IF Sly did anything wrong
it will come back to him and really hurt him!

  • I can’t believe this, just thinking about how much I’ve looked up to sly! I never realised he would even do something like this, especially considering how close they seemed to be when sage was a kid.
When I was younger, my parents always told me that they wouldn’t support me if I took drugs, however, to avoid contact altogether just seems too extreme. I mean, the least he could’ve done was help his son, for crying out loud!
