OK, so I was admittedly clueless up until twenty minutes ago about the fact that Gabourey Sidibe’s mom, Alice Tan Ridley, is not only one of those subway performers in New York, but that she was just a contestant on America’s Got Talent. You’d think it would be deemed unfair for the parent of a celebrity to compete in that sort of competition, but she was just voted off last week. (This all supports my theory that Khloe Kardashian is genuinely a valuable member of society and she’s not famous just because of Kim, BTW.)
But I guess this Alice lady is talented or something because it’s being reported today that an anonymous celebrity has hired her to perform at their wedding on a private island off of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Alice told RadarOnline, “I cannot say who it is but it will be fun to sing for them on their special day.”
Uh, well… Good for her, I guess? But can we speculate about who the mystery celeb could possibly be now? Who is engaged now, the type to get married on a private island AND hire the chick who played Precious’ real-life mother to sing at their wedding?
