Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Quotables

“I think breastfeeding really helped (me keep me figure). Some people here (in the US) think they don’t have to breastfeed, and I think ‘Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?’ I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months.”

Gisele Bündchen on making breastfeeding a wordwide law. Clearly, she doesn’t know what kind of controversy that making such comments stirs, but I’m going to let her off on this one. She’s a first-time mom, and she’s a Victoria’s Secret supermodel. She can’t be completely perfect, you know.

  • Screw her. While that would be nice, not every person is able to breastfeed. I had to pump milk for my kids, since they weren’t able to latch on, despite lactation help, nipple shields, etc., etc. A growing baby kicks up your milk supply, a pump doesn’t. Against my hopes, I wasn’t able to provide more than 3 months, and I am happy that they had at least that much from me. While her intentions may be good, her wording SUCKED!

  • This woman is talking nonsense, she has no idea what women think.
Well I never like her, every time they interviewed her (in the past), she only talks about herself, how humble she is blah, blah, blah, so NARCISSISTIC . This (and the other post you put) only confirms that. I think she lives in a bubble…and yes many mothers are going to be offended.

  • What about the women who can’t breastfeed for various reasons..Or women who adopt thier children out. Shes an idiot!

  • every time a new mother opens her mouth to espouse something that all other mother’s should do, you know she’s a moron. The End.

  • Oh, how revolutionary and intelligent of her! We should enact this immediately, all over the world. We shall name it ‘Gisele’s Law’ and the world will be a better place because of it.

    • I like this! lol and so true! New Mom’s are morons, Giselle -shut up and once your kid is about ten – maybe then -someone MIGHT take your advice.

  • What really makes me laugh about this comment is the context. “Breastfeeding helped me regain my figure… It should be a LAW that everyone breastfeed!” Yeah, Gisele, all those fat mothers walking around… just wrong.

  • Babies are born full of chemicals because of all the environmental pollutants that exist with modern society. Breastfeeding doesn’t reverse that.

  • Every time that woman opens her mouth — every time….she just puts her foot right in. Try feeding your foot to your baby you vapid, ignorant woman.

  • What an arrogant asshole she is. Does she realize that many mothers work? And I for one could not afford the dry-cleaning bill of trying to breast feed AND work… that shit lasted about 2 weeks. The kids are 18 and 19 now… I guess the chemicals weren’t THAT bad.

  • Why are we even justifying her idiocy with a response? I wish upon her mastitis and cracked areola. The end.

    • lmao, you took the words out of my mouth! I thought the same exact thing especially since I got mastitis and had to have surgery a month after my son was born. They had to cut my nipple open. Like I am going to breastfeed after that! Karma will get her.

  • great. I could never stand her, now I have a reason
    Giselle: STFU
she’s the brazilian Gwyneth Paltrow or what?

  • btw folks, this is her official answer to the public outcry

“My intention in making a comment about the importance of breastfeeding has nothing to do with the law. It comes from my passion and beliefs about children. Becoming a new mom has brought a lot of questions, I feel like I am in a constant search for answers on what might be the best for my child. It’s unfortunate that in an interview sometimes things can seem so black and white. I am sure if I would just be sitting talking about my experiences with other mothers, we would just be sharing opinions. I understand that everyone has their own experience and opinions and I am not here to judge. I believe that bringing a life into this world is the single most important thing a person can undertake and it can also be the most challenging. I think as mothers we are all just trying our best.”

    GOD I cant stand her

  • Beet – this site needs monitoring. For comment content.

Just been reading evil beet from the top this morning and arrived here….I am undoing the bookmark.

And who cares? Not a single solitary person.

  • Get over yourselves. In your minds there is something that each of you feels that every mother should or shouldn’t do. Given the ample amount of outlets that this woman has to voice her opinions you can’t say you wouldn’t express your own parenting desires the way she has unless you’d experienced the lifestyle yourself. Children all over the world are being molested and abused and you can find nothing better to do than criticize a woman for doing, and wanting others to do, something that has been proven healthy for an infant.
