Lady Gaga Is Never Going to Stop

In that Rolling Stone interview (which actually looks really interesting), Lady Gaga talks about a lot of things, including her new album, which, for the moment, is going to be released in early 2011:

“I’ve been working on it for months now, and I feel very strongly that it’s finished right now. It came so quickly. Some artists take years; I don’t. I write music every day.”

She also says that the new album will be angrier than the last two:

“And I have been for three years baking cakes—and now I’m going to bake a cake that has a bitter jelly. The message of the new music is now more bitter than it was before. Because the sweeter the cake, the more bitter the jelly can be.”

I don’t know if I get the jelly metaphor, but whatever, Lady Gaga, you just do what you do.  I’m more excited about the political aspect of her new stuff:  she has songs that cover political issues that she feels passionately about, such as the ridiculous “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy:

“Why are we still talking about ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell?’ It’s like, what fucking year is it? It makes me crazy!”

I’m looking forward to this album, because I feel like if she’s singing about important issues instead of stuttering about poker then I won’t hate her so much when they play four of her songs in a row at the club.
