Kirstie Alley Defends Her Scientology-Linked Weight Loss Plan

Kirstie Alley went on the Today Show to promote her new television show and weight loss line and things didn’t go exactly as plan. In fact, it turned out to be just another example of a member of the Church of Scientology going batshit when asked about their religion.

A very slurry Kirstie explained that the there was absolutely no connection between her weight loss program and the church of Scientology and that confusion about their involvement springs from the fact that Kirstie’s accountant is a “Scientology Jew”. Whatever that means.

No, it’s no Tom Cruise impression, but it’s also not exactly sane looking either. When will Scientology train their celebrity members how to talk about their religion in a way that doesn’t seem like their dodging questions or losing their mind?

  • “When will Scientology train their celebrity members how to talk about their religion in a way that doesn’t seem like their dodging questions or losing their mind?”

When it stops being a mind control cult…oh wait. I guess that means never.
Ever heard Jenna Elfman talk about Scientology? Now she’s sincerely batshit crazy.

  • If any post has “Welcome Back, Molls!” written all over it, it’s this one.
This post snuck out of the writing/editing room during a coffee or vodka break. Rendering it intelligible requires an imaginative leap. It’s a doozy.

    • Ha! So true. I don’t like to get on Molls’ case – but had she looked at this a second time before posting it – she might have corrected a flew glaring typos.

  • Knowing what I do about Scientology, I find it exceptionally unlikely that they’re not getting some sort of kickback from his company. It would be very unlike the church to not tap into a revenue stream such as this.

  • I did not find Kirstie “slurry” but actually rather lucid though at times mildly inarticulate as she searched for the right phrase to express what she wanted to. But I also found it refreshingly passionate and probably fairly authentic rather than just a recitation of well rehearsed platitudes; she sounded like a real person discussing what she wants her new show to do differently than other reality shows. This is not to excuse whatever is really going on with Scientology which I do think is shady, but she addressed the suggestion that her supplement line supports Scientology directly and refuted it and didn’t try to go into what Scientology does which is where all the ranting from Cruise and Elfman seems to come from. I’m not entirely convinced that profits from the line won’t support Scientology because tithing or perhaps they call it “investing” up different clearance levels seems to big a big part of membership and most of the prominent celebrity members have given big bucks.

    • Agreed. Kirstie was not ‘slurring’ and was quite articulate.

Molls – did we watch the same video? What a crappy post.

    • Just give it up. It will drive you crazy if you expect Molls to proofread or use the correct word.
I’m learning to be satisfied when things are spelled properly. Even if it is the wrong usage…

  • Molls,

“In fact, it turned out to be just another example of a member of the Church of Scientology going batshit when asked about their religion.”

where or when did this happen in the clip above. And at what point did she “slurry” her words????

Your description/post is absolute bullshit at it’s finest.

Yeah we get it, Scientologists are weird!
Except I found Meridith and The Today Show it to be a bit interrogational and rude to try and make the interview about her religious beliefs.

  • Can I be a Druid Shinto?

Sort of looks like Latin for “Dumb Shit”. Now that is a very popular religion, especially in Hollywood.

    • Actually she just had some Gummi Bears stuck in her teeth. She’s fine now; at least until she starts on that family size bag of Cheetto’s.

  • Sadly, My boyfriend and I broke up a month ago. yeah.. i’m young ,beautiful, lonely and still hurting.i need someone to love ….My friends told me about A_g_e_m_in_g_le @ c./o./m and i got curious about it.. they met their boyfriends there.,It is said that it’s the best place to meet a older boyfriend or a younger girlfriend. .So i got a username AnnaBaby there in order to find a new boyfriend. is it wrong?

  • I thought Meredith was VERY rude. Kristie I felt was very normal, if anything she was just responding to Meredith.

I too completely missed her going batshit crazy when asked about Scientology??

  • Her appearance on the oprah show remind me crazy things scientologist do on tv like tom cruise when they lose their mind (thing they took from them).
    What a pity!
