As I told you last week, America’s Best Dance Crew Judge Shane Sparks was arrested on nine counts of child molestation. Now Shane is fighting these allegations and his lawyer is speaking out on his behalf to say that Shane didn’t do anything wrong. In fact, this whole thing is just an excuse for the victim’s parents to score some cash. Either way, this situation is pretty grim.

Not unlike the Travolta family and John Stamos, Meister [Shane’s attorney] asserts that the claims being made against Sparks mirror an attempt at extortion.
“It’s a bogus accusation that reeks of opportunism and exploitation. The timing is beyond suspicious, and this whole thing stinks to high heaven,” states Meister. “We are going to fight to clear his name, and we are going to succeed.”
The next step in the Sparks case will be building his defense and proving his innocence, which Meister is confident he will be able to do for his client.
If this is an extortion attempt, I am disgusted but not surprised. So many people are so very desperate and morally bankrupt that they’d absolutely put their child through a trial like this is there was a paycheck on the other side of it. There are these two reality TV parents with eight kids that are coming to mind, but that’s the most obvious example. However, if Shane is covering for himself and he is in fact guilty, then he can just dance his ass to prison for all I care.
I don’t know the specifics but if this happened 15 yrs ago wouldn’t the statue of limitations expired?
Oh, statute of limitations is state-to-state, and I don’t know if we’re sure what state this is in. Also, think Roman Polanski – maybe they don’t exist?
No doubt the substance of this statement is lacking, especially in respect to the article at hand but …
I really like Shane Sparks. I think he’s a sick choreographer. And I pretty much agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment of this piece, which is to say that if it’s an extortion case, that sucks and I think people are shitty, and if it’s true, then rot in jail, dude.

Wow, this guy is so lucky his victim waited so long! I bet he’s glad he got away with it as well.
I really think that shane needs more accountability, meaning kids should not be left alone with him. For his safety so there is no accusation on his behalf, there should always be another person around him when he is in class. He is like a Celebrity, kids look up to him, girls throw themselves @ him so he is in danger @ all times due to the nature of what he teaches. I’m not saying that he is guilty or not guilty but for future referance for those who are in this situation should always be careful cause girls Idolize men who can dance and specially a great chereograher like shane sparks.
