Good Morning America Shuns Glambert, Has Open Arms For Chris Brown

Ed Note: This is a cross-post from our sister site Zelda Lily and is written by Sarah Spangenberg. The original post is here.

Good Morning America has never been one to shy away from controversy and this time — well, this time they haven’t, either. To the contrary: they’ve actually stirred it up more than ever before and encouraged the brou-ha-ha surrounding Adam Lambert’s performance on the recent American Music Awards with some homo-avoidant behavior.

After Adam Lambert’s “X”-rated, crotch-bulging, anal-fisting performance at the American Music Awards (which I thought was the hotness), he’s been barred from performing on Good Morning America. However, they have Chris “Mashed Rihanna” Brown slated to appear for interview and performance. So Good Morning America found it in their hearts to forgive a frequently-blacks-out-from-anger woman-beater, but in the same bated breath they’re too prude to succumb to the awesomeness and sexual naiveté that is Adam Lambert.

Good Morning America, get your prude, pink, chubby fist out of your ass — like, yesterday.

Who’s next, OJ Simpson via live feed from prison?

  • holy over punctuation, batman.

i thought his performance was nasty and personally am tired of hearing about it. it’s received more attention than deserved and i think even outwardly gay people should be able to recognize when maybe they should hold back just a tad.

      • yes, outwardly gay. it’s pretty self explanatory, really. outwardly doing everything he can to let people know he is gay. we get it.

      • I think that saying he was gay pretty much covered the letting people know he was gay thing.
I think he did the things he did because he enjoyed doing them. I doubt it was to erase any remaining doubt that he’s gay.

      • This entire thread is retarded. Why has no one asked “what if a straight man would have gotten a straight woman on her knees and made her perform clothed fellatio?” Chris Brown beat his girl in a moment of anger off the stage. He apologized. We still hate him. Glambert is going out of his way (on stage, not off it) to stir controversy for being an oversexual homosexual. get it? He didn’t apologize. He said ‘parents should TiVo what their kids watch and screen it first. Whatever. Remember this site is controlled by someone who is aging and thinks the way to stay (or become) fabulous is by embracing the gays (a la carrie bradshaw or kathy griffin) or playing dress up like “brit brit”.. so over it

      • *sigh* I’m guessing you didn’t do well with reading comprehension in grade school, huh Alzaetia? Reread the post and try again

      • “Glambert is going out of his way (on stage, not off it) to stir controversy for being an oversexual homosexual. get it? He didn’t apologize.”
I’m sorry. What part of that wasn’t I understanding?

  • im really glad im not the only one who thought it was RETARDED. why chris brown still has a career in anything other than community service is beyond me.

  • I’m ready for everyone to jump down my throat here but…I actually used to enjoy Chris Brown’s music. And I wouldn’t mind seeing him perform. That doesn’t mean I think that he is a good person, condone becoming romantically involved with him or that I in any way support what he did, but I’ll still turn it up when “Kiss, Kiss” comes on the radio. I think we can all agree that a lot of rap moguls, pop stars, etc etc that are popular today are not exactly model citizens. Drug dealing/abuse anyone? You might say that hitting a woman is worse but under the law, both are felonies.

This is not to say that I think Good Morning America is sending a good message here. That is total bullshit. However, I am tired of hearing about how Chris Brown is a shitty entertainer and asking why anyone would want to see him perform.

    • Also, I’m wondering if GMA would have reacted the same way if Britney had mimed sucking a d or shoving any of her body parts up somebodys a in a performance. Regardless of your sexuality, that is taking it a little further than many people are comfortable with.

    • Chris Brown is a very talented guy. There are lots of very talented guys out there. I’d rather give my money to one of the talented guys who doesn’t bash his girlfriend’s face in.

      • Come on get real!! You would rather give your money to someone else? But of course you will continue to give him publicity on your site right? I hope you are aware that in the last 13 months there have been over 70 posts about chris brown—thats 5 times a month. And remember any publicity is good publicity.

You can ban posts about heidi and spencer but yet your site continuously promotes this guy…but you always make sure to add in some little sentence about how you “would rather give your money to someone else” come on.

      • 70 posts tagged with Chris Brown’s name do not mean 70 posts about Chris Brown. Granted, most of them are, but a bunch are about Rhianna and how she’s coping.

Banning the most annoying and functionally useless couple that no one even remotely cares about isn’t the same as banning someone who was previously a success and fell from grace, like Chris Brown or fellow douchebag Jon Gosselin. This is a GOSSIP site, and people WANT GOSSIP, and Chris Brown is the living embodiment.

      • Unless Chris Brown is beating women on stage I don’t see the comparison. GMA’s reaction is about Lambert’s PERFORMANCE not his private sexual preference. Maybe Madam ought to keep his private shit private and focus on entertaining. Just because people don’t want to see a live sex show with their morning coffee doesn’t make them “homophobes”.

      • i understand that its a gossip site but it doesnt make sense that she says shed rather give her money to someone else but promotes him every week. And whether the post is about him or not, any post that says his name gives him publicity. So she is totally against spending her money on him but shes perfectly fine with helping his career. That makes sense…

      • I would like to add that I don’t consciously give my money to anyone. I just watch what’s on TV and listen to what is being played on the radio. I sure as hell am not out buying albums

      • also- that’s your personal choice. all i’m saying is that neither you nor I speak for everyone so I don’t think anyone should be surprised if people want to see Chris perform or be “surprised that he still has a career”

      • Honestly, you wouldn’t be able to buy anything if you’re going to base purchases off a person’s morality. You can find something objectionable in EVERYONE.

  • i think it has something to do with Good Morning America being ON IN THE MORNING!!!!

it would be far fetched to have chris brown displaying violent behavior while he sings on stage.
c’mon! quit getting your panties in a whad and crying discrimination over something that was over the top and meant to make headlines by being crude and insulting to all the classy people in the u.s.

him not being on G.M.A. is exactly what he wants, it causes controversy thus getting him some headlines, fame and the right to bitch about it.

this whole crying over his right to be r-rated on network television is revolting. find another (actual) noble cause to champion. he doesn’t need our sympathy and plenty of us are tired of you asking us to give it.

and before anyone bothers, no i am not a homophobe. i just happen to be just picky about who i give sympathy too.
chris brown is not on my sympathy list either.

  • Sarah Spandenberg. Please, let me win the free toaster oven by being the one-millionth person this year to call you a “Fucking Asshole”. You readily admit that Glambert’s performance was “X”-rated,” “crotch-bulging,”, and “anal-fisting” which you thought “was the hotness” and then get all Homo-embracing emotional over Good Morning Americas supposed “Homo-Avoidant behavior”, and to justify your outrage you bring up Chris Brown. Ok lets compare. Chris Brown beat his girlfriend. He has apologized, has never done it again (yet), and has admitted to the public (children included) that what he did was wrong. Then you have Glambert who on a nationally televised channel provided the public (children included) with a guide to all of the perverted acts most dearly loved by the homosexual community. Has Glambert apologized?
Maybe if Chris Brown had beaten Rihanna on television at an Awards Show we could make some parallels. Please don’t raise the argument
that no children saw it because it was a cable channel, and a late evening show. We all know damn well that American households do not resemble the “Leave it to Beaver” show. Children watch all kinds of crap at all hours of the night. You also say that “Good Morning America” “found it in their hearts to forgive a frequently-blacks-out-from-anger woman-beater”. They never forgave him. Why must you lie and exagerate? It is because you are wrong. You are one of those people who only summon outrage and concern for people or causes when it is something you personally care about. Did you express outrage in the past when CB was on tv, or when OJ was on tv? I”m sure you expressed your disgust in the people but not that they were on tv. What Glambert did was wrong, but according to you anything goes, and there should be no limits, and he should be allowed to go on any show he damn well pleases. FUCK HIM!

Sarah, you are probably one of those freaks that fucks your boyfriend on the couch while your kid is next to you watching cartoons.

You are an idiot and you are fucking wierd.

      • Oh, and like you never made an error in your comments before? That is why I read the Evil Beet.
I aspire to be perfect one day and Sasha is this worlds only example.

      • Beet at least has a grasp on grammar and punctuation, unlike some people who I’m totally mocking now. (Hint: See A-2)

      • that’s all you got from that? what would your witty retort have been if it HAD been spelled correctly? just curious.

      • I’ve got nothin’ more, darling. The overt misspelling of my name was truly the only thing that pierced my cold, “wierd” heart.

      • nevermind. just noticed the ” ” around your misspelling so I can assume you were being sarcastic.

but calling me darling or sweetie or anything of the like doesn’t change the fact that it’s lame to call someone on a spelling error without acknowledging the point of the comment. you aren’t a professional writer; it’s clear by the errors that fill your own original article. honey.

      • holy fuck, it is obvious that you got told, because your only comment was referring to the spelling of your name. as if that as any significance to the issue at all. you can admit that whoever that was, was right. it is a classy thing to do, admit when you are wrong.
adam lambert, is fucking stupid. he cannot sing well, and he parades around with so respect, no class. i guess thats what the mainstream is into these days…unfortunately.

      • Actually I took her lack of response as what else can she say. The above ripping of her was all just opinion and insult. There were not facts, so why bother.

    • So violence is less disturbing than sex.
      Wait.
Let me say this again because I want to make sure I’ve got it right.
Sex, the display of sex, is more disturbing then violence.

And you’re actually calling someone else fucked up?

We alls ay what Chris Brown did. The violence was made public. We saw the face, we heard what happened. I would rather see two, nay, make it five gay men having and S&M fuckfest on a floor of bubble wrap than look at a monster who thinks choking and biting his girlfriend is okay.

And for the record: I dont give a flying fuck if he aplogized. Take your ass down to the local woman’s shelter. Every last one will tell you that her abuser apologized too. It’s part of the cycle of violence. It’s predictable, disengenous, and falls on deaf ears. Aplogize my ass. I dont want to hear it. I don’t give a shit.

And really is this not common sense? Who do we want to hear from
      A. Gay rockstar
      B. Woman beating shit stick.

The fact that this is even a debate is pathetic.

      • Who said violence is less disturbing than sex? This is the typical response of idiots who want to justify anything. They pick something they perceive (real or not) as a greater wrong and then say the lesser wrong isn’t one because of the supposed greater one. Well hell everyone lets go out and murder all the people we want, so long as its less than 6 million because we can always point to Hitler and say “well he was worse”. It also isn’t about his being a “gay rock star” you asshole it is about what he did on tv., and the fact that he thinks it is ok for all of America and some of our children to see his perverted dumb ass performance. Plus you talk about the “cycle of violence” in this country, well what about the seemingly endless “cycle of sex” that is this country’s obsession?

      • i agree totally. if they wanted to ban glambert, fine thats their prerogative, but to allow CB on so soon after? no. to allow him at all? lame. and seriously? who cares if he did it on stage or in their car or in a friggen CAVE. HE BEAT HER. there is no justifying or minimizing.

      • Yes, you’re right. Actually my 12 year old niece should “thank” Adam for the visual of him thrusting another person’s face into his crotch.

      • Someone clearly has sex issues. Let me guess: still a virgin at thirty-five or just eighteen-hundred-style Puritan?

      • Hey Jules why don’t you ram your nieces or nephews (whichever is your flavor) face into you crotch this Christmas and see if your relatives don’t kick your ass.

      • LOL!
Seriously,I don’t get what’s wrong with you,either,A-2.Even though I think that his performance at this event wasn’t too appropriate for children,it was just a performance,a damn choreography. He probably did this because his agent, his manager, his PR-guys or whoever told him to do so.Maybe I’m wrong, but I bet the people of AMA probably knew about this, too. It was a professional choice. And it’s not as if he was the first performer ever who caught the public eye by doing something like that.If you don’t like your niece to watch this kind of stuff,I would say that you shouldn’t let her watch live-broadcast.If you care that much about the stuff she watches,be a little bit more RESPONSIBLE.Next time you want to watch this kind of stuff with her, tape it first, review it,see if there is anything inappropriate and THEN watch it with her, skipping through the no-go areas.

      • A-2 needs to seriously cram it.

Yes, I’m sure that this is the very first time that 12 yo has seen something sexual on tv. It’s not like it’s promoted practically 24-7 on the tube, even infiltrating kids shows. Oh wait. It is.

It’s a thousand times worse for the niece to hear about a public figure beating up his gf than some crotch/face rubbing.

      • that’s what we’re doing here, genius. comparing the 2 b/c gma chose 1 and not the other

if you want to complain about tv shows, get them to stop showing 1/2 naked women all the time promoting sexuality and man on woman action. Oh wait, you never mind that stuff. It’s ok if the neice sees that. just not man on man action.
the way you’re choosing to fight your battles shows you don’t actually care about your niece’s well being like you claim at all. you just want to fight against lambert for your whatever stupid reasons.

      • Merc you are a retard. Were did I say sex is good for kids to see just not gay sex? You are making shit up just to defend your stupid ass argument. Also I didn’t “choose my battle” you dumb fuck, I’m commenting on the ONE story that was posted.

    • You are absolutely right A-2. There are no parallels. Lambert delivered a performance of questionable taste, which hurt no one. Brown beat the crap out of another human being. And if GMA is OK with that, it’s completely fine for them to give him a national platform to try and resurrect his image.

      • Man you fuckers are lost. WHAT CHRIS BROWN DID WAS WRONG! WHAT ADAM LAMBERT DID WAS WRONG! Everybody, especially the left are always preaching this “love everyone” “embrace everyone”, “lets be all inclusive” shit, yet they never want to include the feelings and sensibilities of any one who doesn’t agree with them. They only support him because he is gay. No other fucking reason. I have no doubt that if Chris Brown were gay and he had dick slapped his lover into a coma or they went brain dead due to lack of oxygen because Chris kept his cock down his lovers throat to long, the gay community would be supportive of him. A straight guy does something wrong and all the fairies go berserk, but if a gay guy does something crude and reprehensible everyone should shut up and back off.

      • Don’t let them get to you, A-2. They are a very frustrated group. You have to wonder where they would draw the line. I have a feeling Sarah would be ok with Adam whipping out his dick and letting the guy suck it right there on stage.

  • Oooh, bitchfest at the Beet. *dives in*

For the record: people are comparing the two performers because Chris Brown was selected to intentionally replace Glambert. It’s not like people are pulling this shit out of thin air. And picking a known abuser who is clearly on the downswing of his career over a gay dude with a fabulous sense of dramatics is kind of lame. Plus, one “ridiculous display” does not a stage scene set. Because he did it at the AMAs does not mean more are definitely to follow, starting with blowjobs during vocals on a goddamned morning show. Chill, people. It’s all entertainment.

      • Ya know, didn’t you mention you have a 12 year old?
        Geez.
When I lived in the US I spent smoe time working with DSHS. I saw horrible cases and terrible abuse. But one of the most disturbing aspects was reading online history.

I’d get giant folders of what these abusive, disgusting people would write on forums, in emails and so forth. And I gotta be honest, it sounds a lot like this mess here.

Remarks that clearly show a lack of any proper dialogue and go straight to pointless, almost laughable threats. Because these people, abusive types, they don’t know how to disagree without loosing their top. Everybody elses opinion is taken as a direct threat to theirs. It’s actually a scary thing to watch…an abuser start to get wound up.

And for the record, Britney Spears, Madonna, and David Bowie are known for their raunchy shows as well. Britney has simulated sex, masturbation, homoerotic behavior, S&M and so forth. So has Madonna. and David Bowie is in a legue of his own.

My suggestion: Go read your history. Your child will be fine. Simulated sex has been in art since the dawn of time. At the ruins of Pompeii there are ancient carvings of sexual positins. In India temples are covered with fornicating statues. Take a look at some Botticceli paintings. And if you think for one second Michelangelo didn’t involve in nudity and sexual displays you’re wrong.

And these are artists we revere. So quite frankly, you’re reaction, over the period of history has shown to be little more then puritianical hysterics. We have enjoyed the display of sex as humans for the entire span of our species. We will contenue to do so. If you have a problem with that…perhaps you might want to consider taking yourself out of the human race.

      • First of all I didn’t say I had a 12 year old. I said I had a 12 year old niece. Secondly I never made any “threats” laughable or otherwise. You can’t even read something and retain the most simplest of facts. No wonder you speak of your job in the past tense. Your dumb ass was probably fired.

      • A-2 says:
        November 27, 2009 at 5:28 pm
Bend over “Mercy” and I’ll fist fuck you. I would definitely find that “entertaining”.

what is with all of this anger?
Ren is spot on and you’re just ignorant.
        seriously, grow up.

  • I think what offends me most about Lambert’s perfomance is that he’s so FUGLY. If he looked like Hugh Jackman maybe I could tolerate it but when you look like Liza Minelli with an Elvis wig on it ain’t working.

  • P.S. A-2: Hey Jules why don’t you ram your nieces or nephews (whichever is your flavor) face into you crotch this Christmas and see if your relatives don’t kick your ass. The correct answer would be, clearly: don’t. There’s a difference between trying to open up younger minds about homosexuality, and if Glambert’s route isn’t the easiest, more power to him, so long as he accomplishes what he feels is important to himself. Chris Brown has already accomplished what he felt was important, apparently: beating and biting his girlfriend and being a douche about it during apologies.

None of this fuss has anything to do with someone ramming a family member in the vicinity of their junk. That’s incest, y’all, though I guess everyone is too busy faking shock at the AMA performance to express their concerns regarding incest and pedophilia. You brought that to the table, A-2, and look like a bigger asshole now that earlier, and to be honest, I didn’t think stupidity could inflate in such a small amount of time. Congratulations on being a douchenozzle.

  • Isn’t it a sad commentary on society that the only way you can get attention is by doing something disrespectful, tawdry or just plain ignorant? What ever happened to just getting by on talent? The Beatles didn’t have to kiss each other on stage to “shock” people, they let their songs speak for them. Now we’re stuck with lip synchers and no talent SHOCK schlock. Pardon me while I go listen to my old CCR/Beatles catalog.

    • But you do realize what the Beatles did right?
I mean tell me you were trying to be ironic because I gotta be honest, that makes no since.

When the Beatles hit the scene they were touted as immoral and terrible idols. Their long hair “Oh My!”. They sang about getting busy. Yes. And girls went crazy. This infuriated parents to no end. The Beatles during their time were considered to be a terrible influence on moral society. And like Elvis Presley, they were said to have induced woman’s delirium through “tawdry and crude dance.”

And what the what? Their later work that clearly talks about drugs, sex and rock and roll. John Lennons completely nude art cover with his completely nude Yoko Ono. Their Peace and Love acid-induced behavior during a time of intenrational conflict.

I mean…in perspective, this Lambert guy hasn’t caused even .1% of the uproar the Beatles did.

And I’m not even gonna go into CCR, but for god’s sake please google it. Learn your history and get some perspective.

      • Ok but were does it stop? So now someone can actually get blown on stage one day because they can say The Beatles once did this or Adam Lambert once did that.

      • Uhm actually he did not get “blown on stage”. A mimic is not the same as the “actual” thing. I can’t see that his show is much different from Britney Spears’ or Lady GaGa’s sexually speaking.

In my mind Adam Lambert did nothing wrong. Seriously dude you should get someone to surgery remove that stick out of your ass.

*shrug* nah, never mind. you’re probably a lost cause anyways. Sad sad person!

      • When is the last time envelop-pushing art stopped?
        Never?
        The Dark Ages?

I mean, what you’re asking for is something that has been going on since we discovered how to draw humans on cave walls.

        Seriously.

It’s never going to stop. Ever. And chances are, people will contenue to push what we find normal or moral. Square with it. It’s called reality. And you can’t stop it no matter how bad you want to. Ever. Nope. Not even then. Neve.r

  • The real crime is that Lady GaGa is still being heralded as some awesome and new and creative pop star and she is so derivative and dull and uncreative. Cher and Madonna and Marilyn Manson and even Gwar have done what she’s doing, but better.

Lambert’s not terribly creative. I don’t get the fervor over it, though. Half the people complaining thought Madonna and Britney’s faked kiss was perfectly acceptable.

I am not familiar with Brown’s music so I can’t speak to that.

I wish Kanye had picked Pink to interrupt. The result would have been quite different.

  • I wasn’t offended by Adam Lambert’s performance on the AMA’s, but I don’t think it was appropriate. Not because he’s gay, but because it was too sexual for something of that nature. I understand why GMA canceled his appearance.
However, subbing Chris Brown was not the best decision. It isn’t exactly comparing apples to apples, because, as someone said, Chris Brown probably wasn’t going to beat someone on national television (though I wouldn’t put it past him). What it comes off like, though, is GMA hating on Lambert because he’s gay, which some would argue has nothing to do with his performance/talent/etc, and accepting Chris Brown, whose problems are also of a personal nature, which also have little to do with his performing abilities or talent. It’s a slippery slope for GMA to go down and they should have subbed Lambert with someone un-controversial, to avoid the backlash.

I also think it’s unfair to label anyone who felt Lambert’s AMA performance was inappropriate as a homophobe. Just because I don’t want to see simulated oral sex on prime time TV does not make me a homophobe; I don’t want to see it at all on prime time, regardless of who is involved. I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a fan of Adam Lambert, but I like him, think he’s talented, sing his songs to myself throughout the day and think he’s weirdly attractive, though I myself am a straight female, so nowhere near in his league. I don’t think it’s fair to stand up for every little thing he does just because he’s gay.

    • i agree, i am so tired of being bombarded with overtly sexual crap under the guise of good entertainment.
lambert does not deserve a free pass just b/c he is gay.
chris brown shouldn’t either…but i think comparing the two is ridiculous.

he did exactly what he has seen plenty of other crappy singers do…shock you into paying attention. No one is talking about the lyrics or his amazing voice, their instead talking about his obscene behavior.
it is very madonna of him….and there is not a double standard. Madonna and many others have been caught up in the same type of scandal.

i miss the days when slutting it up on stage was not immediately mistaken for talent and/or artistic expression.

  • Just dragging Lambert’s bad performance into a cult classic… he was horrible, sounded bad, fell down, wow, he grabbed a guys head and slammed it into his dick…oooooooh, shocking… and then the rest of the girl/boy touching/erotic shit… boring, hid the fact that he sounded horrible… go back to doing cabaret and showtunes…he sucked… as for Chris Brown, why the hell not, good move by GMA; they can say they never hide from controversy; though Chris Brown doesn’t deserve the airtime; unless he’s on CourtTV pleading guilty or live feeds of his community service. But can we let it go; Adam’s performance sucked…even Paula Abdul would have been disappointed.

  • Happy Thanksgiving Beet. The pumpkin email from your Dad was awesome. I don’t think I’ll eat a pie the same ever again.

Just for the record, I think Adam’s performance was awesome. I didn’t watch AI and I’m totally jumping on the bandwagon now. His skin kind of bothers me a little, but overall I think he’s a great guy.
    And kinda turns me on.

  • If Elvis were starting out in todays world he’d have to shove someones face in his crotch to get attention too. Blame all this shit on Madonna as far as I’m concerned.

  • I feel that the writer of this post is making a mountain out of a mole hill. ABC is a family-oriented station. So of course, there are going to be complaints when any performer reenacts sex acts during a live performance. However, if this is how Lambert likes to express himself, he shouldn’t apologize. But, he should know how to cater to an audience. If this was a more adult awards show event, then it would be acceptable to do this performance. But seriously, lots of families were watching the AMA’s, so it is stupid to behave the way he did. Anyway, tv stations get fined thousands of dollars if a person curses/swears, so I bet the FCC (I think this is the right committee??) is trying to fine ABC for his performance.

Secondly, what Chris Brown did was wrong! and, imho, he should be in prison right now! And just because he’s going to be on GMA doesn’t mean that they support what he has done. Many a times, news shows have done interviews with infamous people, but that doesn’t mean they approve of those peoples’ actions. For all we know, he’ll try to promote abuse awareness when he’s on GMA (i doubt this will happen, but whenever an abuser wants to change, that’s a good sign).

Lastly, I completely understand why people get mad when Chris Brown’s name is in the news. But the mob mentality has to stop! How is saying/threating violence help in ending violence? And if you really wanted domestic violence to end, you’d root for the abuser to become rehabilitated and productive members of society. Many of the comments show how primitive the commenter really is.

FYI, I’m not a fan of either Brown or Lambert — never have bought an album and never will.

      • When will you learn? Being a homophobe is just as disgusting as being a racist. Look, I know you’re probably super mad because you saw something that didn’t square with your personal puritanical belief set.
But the world done passed you by. Nobody thinks gays are gross anymore. Well unless you live under a rock in some backwater-fuck-your-sister-and-your-son’s-your-uncle cult.

I mean really. You’re an absolute disgrace using such hatefull language. It’s so very passe and just shows how repressed and regressive you’ve become. It must be terrible to be that way. For this, I pity you. Absolutly have no other feeling but absolute and condacending pity. For both you and those that must live around you.

I hope one day you can find some dignity. Untl then, I hope you can find a good way to cover up your vast, banal, mind-numbing, echo in a vaccum amount of ignorance.
