It’s Over! Part 2!

I may be a bit ahead of myself.  According to Rosie O’Donnell, things aren’t “over” exactly, but wife Kelli Carpenter O’Donnell and Rosie are having some problems that they’re trying to work out.

Confession time:  I read Rosie’s blog just about every day.  She answers fan questions and for months now, there hasn’t been a whole lot of mention of Kelli.  And in the instances where someone has outright asked her about the status of her marriage, she has been veeeeeerrrrrryyyyyy vague.  Back in the spring, columnist Cindy Adams insisted that the couple had split — a rumor denied by O’Donnell.

Though Ro wouldn’t confirm or deny an actual change of address of either party, she insisted that they would always be a family, raising kids together.

“We’re a family, we remain a family and we’re working on the issues,” O’Donnell reiterated, noting that there are four children whose well-being comes before anything.  The couple married in San Francisco in 2004 and have three adopted children — Parker, 14, Chelsea, 12 and Blake, 9, as well as Vivienne (“Vivi”), 6, whom Carpenter carried.

“They’re adorable and wonderful and they are by far a priority,” O’Donnell said. “Kelli and I love each other very much and we are working on our issues. Those are the only words I am ever going to say. Ever. And that is something that has been agreed upon by all parties,” she said, tears collecting in her eyes. “But everything’s fine and everybody’s good and we’re still both raising them together. We will both continue to parent them and we’re friendly and everything’s all right.”

Oh, I am just so bummed out by this news.  You know what bummed me out even more?  When I went to the wire in search of a picture of these two, there was such a common and noticeable element in the entire history of photos of this couple.  I just think Rosie is so loving and has such a big heart and it kind of hurt my heart to see such a consistently non-reciprocal, arms by side, stance from her wife.

Good luck to Rosie and Kelli.  I hope they can work it out if that’s the goal.

  • It’s strange that they always have that same pose it seems. It seems more controlling/domineering on Rosie’s part. Like how can Kelli embrace Rosie if Rosie always has a death grip on her arms? Either way, I don’t really know anything about them, but too bad.

    • In an interview that Rosie and Kelli did on ABC several years ago, Rosie explained that as a heavy women, you look slightly smaller standing behind. You’ll notice this in other couples as well.

Just a thought…as a heavy woman, she’s right..we look better in the back then the front..not pun intended…

      • Yes, that is correct. That is a trick that we heaver girls do. I didn’t see anything else in those pics other than Rosie trying to hide behind her thin partner.

  • Ooooooh. I read this stuff last night. Rosie seems nutty. (Again with the Stating of the Obvious?)

Don’t you feel like Rose is a total screamer around the house? Someone in that family is going to write a book. Kelli or Paaahkah?

And ViVi is so darling, isn’t she?

  • Does anyone know if they “re-married?” I know they were married in 2004 but all of those SF marriages were supposedly annulled when they were deemed illegal. Only the ones done after the Supreme Court ruling and before stupid Prop. 8 passed are still valid. Just curious.

  • hmmm…i don’t know something seems sorta possessive about Rosie’s body language. I would like to be wrong about that though.
Sometimes I have adored Rosie, other times she has scared me..she reminds me of my mother who was controlling and domineering.

  • Rosie is rude and obnoxious and yet you admire her and put down Carnie Wilson, who seems like a really nice person. I just don’t get it. I do know that you and I have NOTHING in common, that’s for sure.

    • There’s no rhyme or reason to who they tear down or kiss up to on this blog. The tagline says “It’s Not Personal” but that’s a hoot. If they don’t like someone, any picture becomes “gossip” even if they have to more or less invent a story around it (picture of Paula Abdul stepping out of her car becomes Paula’s On Drugs!). This site is like the Fox News of gossip blogs.

I agree Rosie seems like a rude, controlling person. She’s holding her wife the same way I hold my 2-year-old when he looks like he’s going to bolt. But Carnie has bad hair day in her picture, so…I guess that’s the difference.

  • I gotta agree that the body language suggests Rosie is controlling. I wouldn’t like someone holding my arms like that….

But I liked them together. I remember at one point Rosie quit drinking. Perhaps the whole wrestling with depression, fame and booze just became way too much.

It is sad when families have these major shifts. Hopefully everyone can be peaceful for the kids.

  • glancing at these photos, it appears that kelli is really just a cardboard cut-out that rosie dresses in different outfits for the photo ops. this explains why drosie has a deathgrip on “kelli”‘s arms; she’s just holding up the 2D standee.

  • I hope Kelli woke up and smelled the weiner. Rosie is a big fat bore. You hear me Rosie— A BIG FAT BORE!!!! She is horrible. I’ve seen video of her yelling and pulling those kids around like they were obstinate donkeys. Can you imagine that brute in real life doing that? Child protective services would have been called asap. Besides and otherwise, no cares about her every thought. She is not educated, she is a fool. An idiot. A dolt.

BREAK UP BREAK UP BREAK UP BREAK UP! I haven’t been this excited since the Gosselin mess happened. Yippee!!!

  • UGH. I can’t stand Rosie O’Donnel. Never could. I’m so pleased that the rest of America is catching up with my level of Rosie & Oprah hate.
