Jon and Kate Spend the Fourth of July with the Kids

Kate Gosselin, Jon Gosselin

Some heart-warming news amidst what feels like weeks and weeks of bad news — Jon and Kate Gosselin spent the Fourth of July together with their eight kids. It’s not a reconciliation, by any means, but it’s nice to see two parents put aside their difficulties and act like adults so that they can both spend the holiday with their children.

At their home in Wernersville, Pa., the family played volleyball and picked blueberries for a cake that Kate was baking, while Jon was seen lighting up a sparkler. The couple decided weeks ago to spend the holiday as a family.

“Jon pointed to the July 4 holiday and said, ‘What are we going to do about that?'” Kate said in a recent interview. “I absolutely cannot imagine not spending every single holiday with my kids. I don’t care what it takes. I will be there.”

  • That’s because they aren’t really having ‘marital issues’. Trust me, the ‘divorce’ will be called off by the end of this season. Ratings = $$$.

  • Dang it, I think Dubious is on to something. Crap, these two are just fighting for the ratings and even their kids know it. This is just like when I found out about Santa Claus not being real and that the person that crawled into bed with me on Christmas Eve was my ex con Uncle Joey.

  • Looks like another Gosselin PR job. I guess they thought that a dead Michael Jackson was getting too much attention and upstaging them. Why is this event so well photographed? I thought they had so much land that they had privacy. How interesting that they are still perfectly visible to photographers. I guess since there’s no TV crew they are afraid that the holiday won’t be properly documented.

“I absolutely cannot imagine not spending every single holiday with my kids. I don’t care what it takes. I will be there.”

What it takes and what she means is: I don’t care if I have to stop promoting my plagiarized cookbook for a day, I don’t care if I have to spend a nanosecond away from my (boyfriend) bodyguard, I don’t care if I have to stay at home with the father of my children and husband with whom I recently renewed my wedding vows and who I demean constantly…

Here’s what she said when she was accused of having an affair with her bodyguard, “we’ve spent holidays together, because, in this situation, your circle grows smaller and smaller, and it’s very natural to become friends with your manager, your publicist, your security team … they’re the only people you have left.” I wonder where Steve is?

And why are they the only people you have left? Because you’ve alienated everyone else!

  • Because this is reality tv, and kids are who they are, I’ve grown to actually care about these kids.
If they’re really broken up but they can be pleasant with each other in front of the kids for holidays, then I might gain some respect for them.

  • She said she’ll do what it takes to be there for holidays even if it means just shutting her mouth and not being critical of jon.

    • That’s totally what I was thinking. He was probably treated better that day than he was throughout their whole marriage!
