Lane Garrison Free From Jail

It was November 2007 when Prison Break star Lane Garrison was sentenced to forty months in prison for a coke-fueled DUI that left one teen dead and another injured.  Yet he is free today.  I really don’t understand jail math, but his early release has something to do with getting one day off for every day he served or something like that.  Some sort of buy one get one free deal like they have at Payless.

A condition of Lane’s freedom is that he must enter a rehab program.  And really, what better way to catch up with all your Hollywood chums?

Lane, good luck with the reality TV show that you will inevitably participate in.  Let’s hope you can keep your nose clean.  Literally.

  • On the one hand I applaud him for pleading guilty and not trying to avoid responsibility. I also applaud him for making financial restitution to the injured parties. Not that you can ever be compensated for killing a fifteen year old while you were driving drunk and coked up. At least he didn’t drag the misery on for the two people hurt and the family of the dead boy.

It doesn’t seem like much time for being responsible for such a tragedy.

    • i’m sure that was all part of the deal, plead guilty and pay restitution and we’ll make sure he hardly serve any time. Who cares about jail time when the court system can put a monetary price on a fifteen year old’s death and call it even.

      fucking ridiculous.

    • I agree with Jinxy too.

and the rehab part seems kind of …. pointless. shouldn’t they have done that before jail? rehab is for addicts, not people who decide to do something really really stupid when they are high/drunk

  • He made a huge mistake and took responsibility for it by pleading guilty. If he was let out early, blame the system and not him — he did his time and seems truly remorseful.

  • What I always say…
You want to MURDER someone and get off with a slap on the wrist???

Drink alcohol and run them over with your car…

Courts do not equate the following…
    Alcohol = drug
    motor vehicle = weapon

It is called Motor vehicle HOMOCIDE, so the penalties should be the same if you killed someone with a bullet that weighs less than an ounce as if you killed someone with a piece of metal that weighs 3000 lbs.

A gun in the hands of an expert does not need to kill, the same with a car.
A person who drinks and shoots guns is just as dangerous as a person who drinks and drives a car.

    /off soapbox

  • Whatever happened to the charges the he was getting drunk/high with 15 and 16 year old girls here; no sex right? Good call on letting this ass out of jail… the reality show will be awesome though. We’ll be seeing him on Dateline talking to Chris Hansen in a year.
