A “Clueless” Sequel???

clulesschristmas

Oh, nothing would make me happier than this! Despite the fact that it’s going to TOTALLY suck!

Thirteen years after her blockbuster movie Clueless debuted, Alicia Silverstone is finally reprising her role as ditzy Cher Horowitz in a sequel to the 1995 hit.

Alicia, 32, was recently spotted shopping along Ventura Boulevard in Tarzana, Calif., with her good friend, Clueless writer and director Amy Heckerling, 54. “They were talking about the script they’re working on and how exciting this is for them,” an eyewitness tells Star. Explains a source, “It’s been a dream of Alicia’s to bring Cher back to the big screen. Amy is writing it, but Alicia is giving her tons of ideas.”

I’ll admit it: I’m a product of Generation Clueless. I was in eighth grade when the movie came out, and we used it more as a Bible than as a work of fiction. We strived to be just like Cher and her friends — we dressed like them, we talked like them, we sang “Rollin’ with the Homies” to no end. I would LOVE to see what Cher Horowitz is up to now, at the age of 32. I NEED NEW GUIDANCE!!!

  • I don’t even CARE if it sucks, it’s mo’fucking CLUELESS!!! This totally made my day. AH!

  • Clueless is one of my all time favorite movies. I can’t help it. I have been hearing rumors of this FOREVER tho (much like the Arrested Development rumors)…. I can only hope they both turn out.

I think it could work. Sex and the City made a gajillion dollars. OH AND PLEASE LET PAUL RUDD BE IN IT OMG

    • OMG….Paul Rudd. Yesss! I am in total man love with him. Those eyes, that smile….I want his babies.

  • I loved this movie too, but I am somewhat hesitant in my enthusiasm for a sequel.

Speaking, well typing as a man, the main problem for me is that many of the character traits that made Cher and her friends adorable are only applicable to a certain age group and do not translate well to women in their 30’s.

Perhaps they can successfully update it and make it Valley Girl version of Sex and the City but I won’t be holding my breath. A vast majority of sequels are just painting-by-numbers remakes made for no other reason than printing money using nostalgia, which ages quicker than Dorian Gray’s portrait.

  • Oh my GOD, loved this movie and copied them just like so many other girls did!! I hope this happens and SOON!

  • Beet- did you know that Clueless is based on Jane Austen’s Emma?

I wonder what they’d do with the story for a sequel…

  • I used to watch it every morning before school as inspiration and guidance in dealing with my friends. I created something like her clothing program to make sure I didn’t duplicate outfits and accessories.

I don’t care if it sucks, I’ll just be grateful to get a fix in my adulthood.

  • OMG so excited! “What is that?!” – “Daddy its a dress” – “says who?!” – “Calvin Klein!”

“She might have concussion, ask her questions!” – (can’t remember the question he asked her) – “stuff she KNOWS!!”

And the hair-flick falling off the bed! OMG I’m so excited! I live by her ‘I always take photos, mirrors lie’ thing! And I always wanted her outfit matcher on the computer and her closet! Haha! So giddy now! :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • that movie rotted our brains and made us say interject the word “like” into every sentence. also made our statements sounds like questions

  • Me, I, like, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but people were interjecting “like” at random into sentences for, like, a decade before Clueless came out.

Even if the sequel is only half as good as the original, it’s still worth watching. It would be a nice touch to adapt a different Austen novel, if they can find one that fits the characters.

  • I was so in love with Alicia that I had sexual fantasies for her while I played in in my dvd player.
