I have witnessed with MY own eyes more than 1000 times, large families of Blacks, buying buggies FULL of meat and other upper scale groceries standing in line and paying for food with food stamps. While I, am standing in line to buy my Noodles and tomato sauce to go home and feed my kids after I have worked all day long. I walk to the parking lot and they are there loading up the groceries into a new Lincoln, or SUV. That is not a statistic, I am an Eye Witness! And these are not isolated incidences. Where I worked in a bakery, a Black female, got married, after her husband to be was terminated for theft from the same company,. After sending her Wedding Coordinator in to pick up the cakes with out paying for them. They were not released to the coordinator so she had to come in. She paid $400. For a Wedding cake and a Grooms cake and paid for them with FOOD STAMPS! I didn’t think the register would allow the sale because it was coded as prepared food, but it did! Here’s mine:
US Population: 303,824,640
Therefore, black population (12% of that number): 36,458,957
The article stated that 5 million of the 14 million receiving welfare are ADULTS. So look at 5 million. And 37% of those were black. Got it? So that would mean about 1,850,000 on welfare.
Now take that number, and divide it by total black people in US. you get .0507, or 5%
I am sure something isn’t perfect in these calculations, but 5% is a hell of a lot different than 75%.

The way I read it is that Whites use 38% of the total funding. Blacks take up 37% of the total funding. Correct? However blacks are only 12% of the population. I don’t know what the answer is. But even if ALL 14 million people (children + adults) that were on welfare were black, that figure would still be less than your 75% of black people are on welfare, etc. There are over 36 million African Americans, according to these numbers (12% of the population). If 14 million of them took welfare (as in, all the welfare that is given out to anyone, adults and children included), that would still be about 39% of African Americans are on welfare.
That was my main problem. The 75% you threw out there. Even if they = everyone that was on welfare, the number is around half of your approximation. And they obviously are not, seeing as tho they make up for about a third of all welfare receivers.
Does that make sense?

Welfare is definately not exclusively a black problem but we do have to also be honest and admit that there is a significant number of blacks out there living irresponsible lives who act like welfare is some kind of entitlement. I have no problem helping people who are poor or disabled so long as they are willing to make positive changes in their lives like accepting job training, education and birth control services but we all know some people in the minority community don’t want those things and are perfectly happy to suck off the government because they believe they are “owed” something and it is that group that pisses everyone off. Slavery has been over for awhile, but civil rights is still a recently modern issue. Racism is…. clearly…. still a huge issue in the states. Your parents and grandparents may not have owned slaves, but they actually did live during a time when black people were segregated in the military. Where they could not eat at certain countertops. Where they couldn’t sit in the front of the bus. When they had to attend different schools. When they were still treated like less than human in parts of America. This is recent. This is not 200 years ago, or even 100 years ago. We’re talking about the 20th century.

There was a time in history, when blacks were not treated as equals. However, those of who are still lving are not the ones causeing the problems. If you talk to them you may find out that they feel the same way that I do. Those people worked hard to earn what they have. And most of them will agree, like Bill Cosby, that their is a problem with the younger generation. You ask how I know what THEY think. I was raised for 23 years in town that is 98% black. Ive talked to them and was with them and by them. When I moved to where I live now, I fit in better with the blacks than I did the whites.
