Christian Bale’s reputation has gotten so bad after the whole rant-y thing that he’s supposedly planning to star in a romantic comedy.
The Dark Knight actor – who hit the headlines when a recording of his foul-mouthed rant on the set of the new Terminator movie found its way on to the Internet – is going all-out for laughs in a bid to show the other side of his personality.
‘Cuse me? Christian Bale in a romantic comedy is like Elmo making a cameo as a junkie in the next Batman flick. Does. Not.Compute. I would love to see him spending an hour and a half desperately trying to mask his disgust with the entire operation though. The best part is that Drew Barrymore is the person that suggested this and she’d be his co-star/love interest.
“He has a habit of going for very dark and moody roles so that’s not helping his image either. It was his friend Drew Barrymore who suggested he might try something like a romantic comedy, and it looks like he might star in something with her. Drew is looking for the right script.”
I love Drew Barrymore – seriously – but unless they’re remaking a modern day Beauty and the Beast I fail to see those two personalities meshing.

I dunno… he was mutha-funkin HOT!!!!!!! in Little Women as Laurie. That’s pretty much when I picked up the raging mega-huge lady boner for him, and I’ve proudly carried it around ever since.
I guess the gist of all that was because his character was kinda romantic in that movie… I don’t know. Christian makes me lose my train of thought sometimes with all the hotness.

He’s a fantastic actor. He can do whatever he fucking wants and it will be amazing. I love him and I think that people are taking this whole ranty thing WAY too seriously. He didn’t go all Chris Brown, did he? He didn’t do a Russell Crowe, right?
Newsies is one of my all-time favorite movies. He was adorable and he could most definitely pull off a romantic comedy. And I will be there on opening day, fangirling and drooling proudly.
And I hope he does his whisper/growl. I find it incredibly sexy.

Oh, I’ll definitely be there. He’s one of my favorite actors and SO diverse. I love that he didn’t respond publicly to his rant. It didn’t hurt US did it? People are taking it way too seriously.

Midsummer Nights Dream. He was good, AND naked in that one. Nice. Not quite a rom-com, but just enough seriousness for him. And a lot of sexiness for me.
I’m no fan of Christian Bale. His performance in the Dark Knight was far from impressive – he was, of course, greatly overshadowed by Heath Ledger’s performance, but nonetheless he failed to deliver. I absolutely HATED his performance in American Psycho. I’m fully aware of the reason he made his character choices – sticking to the book – but I was bored the whole time. I have nothing against him personally (I think his rant was HILARIOUS), I just don’t find him an appealing actor with enough versatility.

I’m actually very optimistic about Christian doing a rom com. First of all,he has IMMENSE range as an actor,and even though he said he’d never say never,but he would never do a rom com,unless he really “needed the money”,lol. Well,he does’nt need the money at this point in his career,but it’s Drew Barrymore who’s wooing him to do it. They met when they were wittle bitty fresh faced movie stars, who both had a one-time membership in Club Spielberg,but now they’re all grown up:D
The timing could’nt be better for this prospect,because as a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge Balehead,I am saddened and ANGRY at the way Christian’s rep is being dragged through tabloid mud!!!! He had a minor meltdown,so the f*ck what!!! He did’nt hit,or injure the man did he? NO!!! So give him a damn break!!!! I think a rom com would be a fresh change for Christian,and remember,when people say he can’t or won’t ever do something,that’s when he proves them wrong,he said so himself. I’m a fan of Bale’s movies, but I don’t think I’d like him in a romantic comedy, especially not with Drew Barrymore. Oh, and Bale is happily married, she needs to chill with the crush thing. I agree, though, that is not a flattering picture of Bale. There are better pictures of him. Let’s take a look see, I’m sure there are some naked ones they could use out there…..
