I Plan To Totally Take Credit For Single-Handedly Saving “Life On Mars”

Well the show isn’t saved, yet.  But Life On Mars had a 24% jump in ratings this week, only a couple days after I posted my outrage over the best show on television being cancelled.  I’ve also been torturing all my Facebook friends with “Why?  Why?  Why?” and “Life Is Just Meaningless If It Can’t Be On Mars,” type statuses.  Oh, and there was also the Life On Mars Just Got Cancelled And I’m Not Effing Putting Up With It group I started.  I have a really hard time letting go once I bond.  I’m a total bitch to break up with; I don’t detach well.

As far as other shows, all of which I don’t care about, are concerned, American Idol dropped 15% this week and Lie To Me dropped 12%.  Lost was up 9% and, oh, did I mention that Life On Mars was up 24%?

  • After the crap ABC pulled with the Bachelor this week – they owe it to the viewers to keep Life on Mars on for people who actually appreciate shows that are well written and not a “reality” freak show.

  • Woo! Perhaps if ABC would stop putting new shows on 2 month hiatus only to have them return on a different night they might fare better in the ratings. I’m still pissed about Pushing Daises which suffered the same fate. ABC has some of the best programming of all the major networks and they shoot themselves in the foot constantly. In other news, there’s supposed to be a marathon on BBC America of the original British version soon followed by the premiere of a spinoff based in 1981. Just FYI.

  • because of you, and all the facebook status updates I have seen about this…If they save it…I will watch it…

    • I agree with you on Lie to Me…it is really fascinating to see how facial expressions are interpreted, and I love how they show these expressions on famous people to bring home the point. But my all-time favorite show is Life on Mars and I will write anybody I have to in order to keep it on the air.
