Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Proud Papa!

snn1305aa-380_732314a

No, this little boy isn’t this child’s brother — he’s her father.

Meet 13-year-old Alfie Patten, whose 15-year-old girlfriend had this baby girl, Maisie, four days ago.

Alfie is four feet tall and says he “thought it would be good to have a baby.”

“When my mum found out, I thought I was going to get in trouble,” he says. “We wanted to have the baby but were worried how people would react. I didn’t know what it would be like to be a dad. I will be good, though, and care for it.”

OMG!

He will be “good”?

Is he worried he’ll get grounded if he doesn’t change her diapers on time?

      • …or Washington state (Mary Kay Letourneau), or Massachusetts (Gloucester High pregnancy pact). This crap doesn’t just happen in the deep south…

      • Poor Alex. You are equal to the post you just submitted. You probably blow yourself in your spare time only pausing to advertising your ignorance on the internet. Then again, if you are female, it could have been a temporary lapse of intelligence due to the lack of oxygen from that tight ass hell chastity belt WE ALL KNOW YOU ARE WEARING.

      • Sigh… <— Not that I disagree with the point of your note, but if you’re going to insult other people’s intelligence, please use appropriate spelling/grammar (“advertising” vs. “advertise). Sigh…

      • people, give me a break! Alex mentioned the south and yes, there is a certain stereotype of people from the south… this doesn’t mean there are no exceptions or that the same things don’t happen up north.

      • Thanks for the laugh, JennB. That was so big of you. Perhaps next time you insult one for insulting another YOU will use proper punctuation. I know I make mistakes, but to call me out with your virtual red pen AND make a mistake of your own… good times.

    • Same here. I can’t believe it. Still can’t after reading the article on Dailymail.
I thought it was somekind of valentine prank…

      The worst has been expected….
      What next ?

    • unfortunately, that was my first thought when i saw the photo of those two. Something along the lines of “Really?”

  • This is so insane. And why is he 4 feet tall? First I thought he might have been a little person, then the terror sank in—- he has not gone through puberty.

This is horrific… just so ridiculous. He seriously looks about 8.

    grossssssssssss

  • Kids should NOT have kids. Seriously, this so called “dad” it’s just a child and he should enjoy his childhood. I mean he’s (and also her) not prepared to all the responsibilities of having a baby.

    • I’m not sure if he’s gone through puberty, but if he hasn’t, I don’t think he can be the father of the baby. I seriously wonder if this is going to be a situation where he finds out that he’s not the baby’s dad.

  • Holy mother of God what is the world coming to? Welfare slobs popping out 14 kids, Singers pummeling their GF’s over a text message and now a midget child becoming a dad at 13? I swear I will need prozac by the end of this week.

  • She looks WAY too old for him. Where are this kids parents? Seriously, when I was 13, it was freaking impossible for me to be running around having sex because my parents more or less knew my every move. I’m not saying this kid should be put on lock down (though by the looks of it, a couple of months of lock down couldn’t possibly do him any more harm) but the parents should be more aware of what he is doing and like talk to him about safe sex.

    • I must have been a total dork because at 13 I didn’t even know what sex was. The girls my age were thinking about kissing boys not porking them.

      • i knew what sex was, but i agree that we were more worried about holding hands and kissing than doing the dirty. and an age difference matters SO MUCH in middle school. EW.

      • Same here! Sex wasn’t even something I remotely thought about at 13, beyond the whole idea striking me as vaguely gross.

      • I, too, was still playing with my Barbies at 13. I was at school WISHING boys would talk to me, not wishing to have sex with boys.

  • When you click to read the original article…it gets worse. Watch the video too. The poor kid’s voice hasn’t even broken yet. With things like this and Octo-Mom…it just makes me very sad for these kids and what we have reduced “family” to these days.

  • i wish them the best, you never know, they may be good parents despite the age…
you know what the only thing that bothers me is? imagine the same story, with a 15 year old boy and a teeny 13 year old girl (who got pregnant at 12) next to him: The older boy would be in juvenile hall for rape or peadophilia or something even if it was consensual. seriously, think how differently the story would have been reported and the parents would have reacted if the girl was the younger!

    • no i seriously feel like a 13 year-old will not, under any circumstances, be a good parent. they can’t even take care of themselves at that age.

and no. If the girl was 13 and the boy was 15, that is not illegal. there is nothing he could have been charged with.

    • How would he be a good father when it will be 5 years before he can even hold a decent job? Not to mention the fact that he wont be able to drive for 3 years and hasnt even finished middle school! You must be nuts!

Maybe HIS/HER parents will be good “parents” but there is nothing that a 13 year old and 15 year old could do to be “good” parents. It takes a lot more than just loving a baby to raise it.

  • I think they should blame the parents of the 13 year old boy. Seriously, how can you not know that your little boy was sleeping with girls?
In extend, it could be just me, but I also doubt that he was not doing it on purpose. Perhaps his parents told him that this would be a nice way of getting famous and a lot of money.
He still looks like he loves playing with his teddy bears, for god´s sake!

      • “what it is like to have a baby?”
        did he seriously say that?
not exactly shopping for new shoes here, that’s the worst reason for having a baby, like, ever.

        this is all so wrong!

      • Allright, so obviously he did not know what he was doing. But whats wrong with that girl?
When I was 16 I was already quite grown up, she is 15 so leastwise she should have known what she was doing.
I would have never ever screw a 13 year old boy (who is looking like 5 btw.) when I was 15, nor get a baby with him.
They should check her IQ. Sadly stupidity and flippancy are both not chargeable.

  • Babies having babies, society crumbing – tragic. …. Now, for the important things; didn’t anyone else think the pink stuffed animal in the background was actually some sort of brutal head wear she was sporting?

    • Are you kidding me??!!! Sex education is the only way people will know what sex is, how it works, and how to prevent STI’s and pregnancies. It’s people like you that drive society into the dark ages!!

    • If these two “knew what sex was about” they would probably not be in this situation. Duh. Babies are not fashion accessories to “try out” and see what it’s like. Even an basic sex ed course could have made this obvious to a 13 year old. I know when I was 13, I had a basic understanding of sex and its repercussions-especially at such a young age. I also knew I wanted no part of any of it for many years.

    • You are kidding, right? Sex education is not some kama sutra training and teens will be curious about sex even if they would have never heard the word. It is in our genes. With proper education, teenagers are much less likely to have babies and realise the risks involved.

  • I know 15 is not abnormally young to have a child though. Not saying its ideal, but I do know a girl who was 13 when she had a child, and she did a great job as a mother.

Im in two minds about it, I am 28 and on my first child, i often wish I had started earlier, so I feel hypocritical to say that she is too young.

guess it depends on the girl and the support system. I am discounting the dad, he looks shifty.

      • At thirteen I had my own business that I ran after school. While a baby would have interfered with that I would have been capable financially at least to be a parent.

But I would being a parent at that age to having an abortion if I had been sexually active.

Quite unpopularly I believe that 18-19 is the ideal age for motherhood. Thats my personal belief, not based on anything scientific.

      • MG anonymous, come on.
i’m sure your middle school business was lucrative enough to take care of a child.

and you’re insane if you think that is the best age to have children. So I guess you aren’t that into the idea of college for girls, eh?

      • But think of the girl, what 15 year old girl (who likes 35) would do it with such a little boy? Isn’t that a bit creepy of her? He’s so innocent :S

      • I seem to have lost my avatar, and the anonymous post was me.

I did not say it was the best age, but I do believe that having a baby at any age is preferable to abortion.

Regarding my financial capabilitites at 13, I made enough to begin university with a very healthy bank account, so yes, that was more than enough to care for a child.

Although I am the not particularly proud owner of a law degree myself, and a journalism degree too, come to think of it, you are correct, I do not believe in college for girls. I also do not believe that men should do housework or women should change tires.

And if I could take back the day I lost my youth to first university and then the corporate machine I would, and trust me, I am not alone.

    • 18 or 19 is DEFINITELY NOT the best age to have a child. The most important part of being a good parent isn’t being able to financially support a child, its the ability to impart your wisdom and guide your kids through life. The more you’ve lived and experienced, (hopefully) the more you’ve learned. And at 18 you should be in college, not popping out kids.People like you give the rest of us pro-lifers bad reputations.

    • WHAT????!!! women shouldn’t change tires and men shouldn’t cook or clean?????NO COLLEGE FOR GIRLS????!!! you would probably approve of the Taliban except i get the feeling that your a jesus freak. People like you make it so hard to be openly against abortion, intelligent people tend automatically assume that all pro-lifers are backwards fucking retards.

    • @ heatherlyisaverb

      • I probably shouldn’t have said no college for girls, I believe people SHOULD do what they want as long as it doenst hurt others or themselves.

you are remarkably wrong about me, Iam religious in that I believe in God and Jesus, but I dont go to church or preach or anything.

I do not feel that college in any way enhanced my life. as i said before, I have two degrees, and I am a certified barrister and solicitor. I found nothing that was not soul destroying as a woman in the work place where I was constantly treated like I was unequal or a sex object – and I worked in 2 different states at about 5 different workplaces. I incurred damage that would not have happened had I stayed at home cooking and cleaning which is what has always made me happy.

I would never let my boyfriend cook or clean because as he is the one who earns more money, why should he come home and work too

      • Rgarding the ‘backwards fucking retards’ comment, I have not only a first class tertiary education, a short but promising and out of the courtroom, 2 published novels and I own 3 homes in two countries.

And I actually find it more important to find my boyfriend’s socks for him than be sitting in an office wishing I was cleaning my house.

you dont have to be a feminist to be smart.

    • Yep, you non-feminists are so smart. (Rolls eyes) . Bitch, you can barely even type. “rgarding”? No wonder sock finding is a full time job for you.

      • Should havew checked back on this ages ago.

        a) One does not have to be a feminist to be smart. this does not equal ‘all non-feminists are smart’.

        b) Expletives do not indicate a winning argument.

        c) I am used to having a secretary, of course I cant type well, do you have to do your own typing? how gauche.

        d) Socks can be tricky things.

I hope that you can open your mind and realise that your way is not necessarily the right way. Most of my girlfriends are lawyers, psycologists, executives. Do they agree with me, no. Do I agree with them? no. Do we call each other names, never.

Now go find your own socks.

    • it is, but it actually has video footage and interviews with all concerned. sadly, we’re going to have to take this as real. ugh

  • Well considering the economy at this point and the fact that neither of them are old enough to hold full time jobs…

Well I hope this publicity with it gets them the money they’ll need to call child services crying and admitting how fucking retarded they both were and how perhaps someone who isn’t a child moron could give the baby a good home.

  • If I was this boys parents I’d be wanting DNA confirmation that this boy was the father. Seriously, he doesn’t look like he’s anywhere near puberty and if that is so, how could he be the father of this baby.

  • This is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard of. What could’ve gone so wrong in your life that you thought it would be good to have a child at 13? Crazy.

  • She is too young, but it is not so crazy… but HE is only 13, two years less than his girlfriend, and yes, he really looks like he’s 8… no maturity at all, not because he is stupid, but because he’s only a child! Not yet a teen!
And how could the girl be with a so young guy??? How is it possible to have sex so young?
I can’t understand, and I hope this little girl will be happy…

    • I hit 19 tomorrow (Valentines baby) and England hasn’t made me “fucked up”. Im very normal apart from an addiction to raw onions.

Please don’t generalise me with these two.

    • well. some of them are. as i’m sure are some in america (the kind who go into school and shoot their classmates). there are some normal ones, though.

  • As a parent of two little boys (and by little, I mean under the age of 5), this story scares the crap out of me.

  • it’s so easy to see the resemblance between the father and baby, i mean he still has all his baby fat!

  • Shudder.

Has anyone else thought that he got her before she discovered she was a lesbian? Seriously. She looks like she said “I’m gonna punch your lights out if we don’t do….’it’ kid.” And then proceeded to take his lunch money. This kid is going to need way more therapy in the future. Good grief. I hope his paper route can pay for the diapers.

  • What’s kinda’ funny here is that NEXT YEAR, little daddy will masturbate for the VERY FIRST TIME! Sadly, he may discover it’s waaaaay better than sex with mama…

  • I think we’re all overlooking the fact that this kid got an older girl in bed at 13.. Guys? Anyone? That’s quite an accomplishment at that age if you factor in that he looks like he’s 8.

  • OMG. This is…DISTURBING!!!

Honestly, I thought that little boy was no older than 5. He looks like my BFF’s nephew. This is sad and disturbing. I wonder what all of the Grandparents think?

  • Let’s see, he doesn’t know what the word “financial” means, he defers all parenting authority to the baby’s mother, he can’t keep up a house, plays video games and is generally clueless.

How is that different than the majority of husbands out there?

At least he’s tiny and likely to produce less poop, body odor and dirty laundry. Come to think of it, the little bastard won’t even leave beard shavings in the sink, go out to bars and cheat, grow a pot belly or scream at televised sporting events with his loser buddies.

    I can get behind this.

  • I’m British and people in the UK are rightly appalled about this too – most people here are NOT like this I promise! Apparently a member of the press enquired how he thought he would cope financially and the boy replied…..” What’s financially???”..Lord give me strength!!

  • Hes so little compared to her!
It also seems that she thinks that he is stupid (her giggling while he was talking seems very “unfriendly” to me).

  • I am appalled on so many levels. I can’t believe it. My 8 year old son looks older than this boy and is by far much more intelligent. Where were the parents when this was going on?

  • Too f***in’ creepy for words! How did they conceive? Did he have to crawl up her leg just to stick it in?

  • this is so sad, why can’t kids just be kids? why rush your life, enjoy be a kid!life is there before you know it. Even if you graduate, some people like myself don’t even know where to go next after graduation. My second thought is:this is so sad, so many people cannot have children while being married and then kids are having kids. What can they do to provide a family life, other than the US government paying for their support

  • Disgraceful how this could be let to happen. Also the fact that we the “Working people” will have to pay for all three childs care. It infuriates me. Shouldn’t he be out playing on his bike or out at the park playing football.

    Complete disgrace

  • im from england and i have to say, this sort of thing is not that uncommon..
a girl from another school near mine was pregnant in year 7, year 9 and in year 11. she aborted all except the last one. maybe she took it as a sign..

  • This is so sad. I saw supposed photos of his parents on the front of one of the tabloids today. They looked like crack addicts or something. These kids need help.

  • Wow…
    13…? He looks about 5 …
My 6 year old nephew is bigger than this kid .
    I can’t imagine …eww…just…omg…wtf….wow…

  • OMG, I’ve just found out that these guys come from a town very close to mine. Typical! If you know the area, it all starts to make sense.

  • Good news, but i was wondering if the gender right or women right organizaiton have to say something about it…because if it would have happened in any Islamic country they would have called 100s of press conferences and arrange talk shows on BBC and CNN etc…just to tell the world…Hey look it is child abuse….
