It looks like George Clooney will be appearing on ER during the final season, reprising his role as Dr. Doug Ross. The TV show, created by the late Michael Crichton, launched Clooney’s career.

ER co-creator, John Wells, has supposedly ordered a closed set to keep everything about Clooney’s appearance a secret.

What do you think the Dr. Ross story line will be?

I’d offer suggestions, but I haven’t watched ER since, oh, 1996, when it was relevant.

yes!…..am I the only one still watching ER?

I stopped watching it years ago, but I did start up again for the final season.

I’m still watching it. But it’s just become so blah. And even Dr. Ross can’t help with that.

I admit I watch it and have on and off over the years. It’s kind of like my relationship with the original 90210 (so sad I have to differentiate). I continued watching long after it was good because I was attached. In ER’s defense though, this season has been really good. Not over the top silly as it had the potential to be in the past. Just good. Even the cameos this season are well placed and don’t seem forced and gimmicky. Looking forward to seeing how Clooney will be worked in.

I, too, watch because I’m simply attached. But last week’s episode was ridiculous. Groundhog Day done WRONG. I used to like Neela, especially when Abby was still there, but she just annoys me now. Pick a guy, f#@* him, pick a department, and stop whining.
And Sam’s an asshole for dumping Tony over the accident.
Yeah, I definitely need the show to end so I can let go of these characters.

His 15 minutes are up when he has to go back to television to get work. See what happens when you don’t pick your projects carefully and you do too many?

i honestly do not think george clooney is over…
he sooo doesn`t need to go back to television! he’s doing it as a thank you to that show and its fans for propelling him into fame.
anyways, he has enough money to retire. or he could sell his gigantic villa on lake como, in italy.

I’d take John Stamos over him any day. And I’ve never watched ER. The last time Clooney looked good to me was in Roseanne.

  8. Rob says:

I think Facts of Life launched Clooney’s career…wasn’t he banging Tootie and Mrs. Garrett? J/K, whatever did happen to Mindy Cohn though?

  9. Delaney says:

Maybe Dr. Ross will end up being a patient or something.

    Who knows?

  10. Js says:

He also was in a few episodes of Sisters, playing a cop.
