Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Sarah Palin Brings in the Ratings for SNL!

The show averaged around 14M viewers on Saturday night — and 17M in its first half-hour — making it the most-watched episode of SNL in fourteen years. The last time the show performed that well was in March 1994, when Nancy Kerrigan hosted.

And I’m by no means suggesting that anyone should beat Sarah Palin with a lead pipe, but, honestly, Tonya, where are you when we need you?

If you missed Sarah on the show, we’ve got the clips here.

  • I guess thats gracious of her to go up to the people calling her an ignorant bimbo every week.

    Must suck to be hated.

  • I wish she had been funnier. I totally do not like the idea of Palin as VP… but I seriously thought it would have been funnier.

Oh well. I guess she wasn’t writing it.

  • She does have my admiration for standing in the lion’s den. She also deserves every jab from Tina and all for all the utter bullshit she and McCain’t dole out.
For every lying attack ad, another silly skit poking fun…yeah that’ll get ’em.
Seriously though, the part where Alec Baldwin says to the real Palin; “you know, you’re much hotter in person”…WOW, was that not the best!? And then after he sexually hits on the Republican/Alaska Independence Party spokeswoman, she actually takes his arm and walks off!! Yeah, Democracy in action…and by “action” I mean go Alec!

  • Unlike the opening sletch, I thought the rap sketch was v. funny, and our possible-VP (tho, unlikely, it appears) showed she has good rythum…and a sense of humor.

I love Alec Bladwin, but he sucked!

  • I thought she was stiff and awkward; definitely not a humor kind of gall when the fun is poked at her. She did this for some kind of validation…didn’t work for me. I’m still voting for the other guy; Colin Powell was right.

  • I think she was orrright, still don’t think she should be VP of your country thought

I cannot get over how much Tina Fey looks like her though. It is such a good likeness

  • she sucked! she didn’t do anything!

all she did was stand there or sit while everyone made fun of her. and how about that little white soccer mom dance she did during the rap? yeah palin’s so cool…she wears knee high boots and fancies herself a celebrity.

honestly, if she had made fun of herself only a little bit then she would have been ok.

  • How funny would it have been if Amy Pohler had gone into labor during that Weekend Update rap skit?

  • Scank!!!!!!
Maybe she should stay at home and parent her children. This is how her daughter was able to start drinking a age 12 and pregnant by age 17.
She is such a disappoint to working Moms who are doing the right things!

  • Seriously, BEET if I asked where is Tonya Harding in regards to Obama people would go ballistic and call me a racist, uneducated, or whatever random adjective they found fitting at the time.

And to Tia, HOW in the world is she a scank? She is a married woman. Nothing about that makes her a scank. I am so tired of women hating on her because she is pretty and not over-weight. I think it must really chap the asses of all the women who have given up children to have a career or had children and let themselves go to see her succeed with a family of 5 and to pull it off looking so great.

As a young female attorney I look up to her and I wish more women would.

  • C’line;

Perhaps you should research Palin’s record. You might change your mind. I dont know of anyone who refers to Palin by the “s” word; myself included. However, I am also a professional woman who does not look up to Palin. There are many other more positive role models to admire and respect. I especially disapprove of the way in which she has done nothing to dissuade the crowds from using hate-filled comments and diatribe. After checking into record more thoroughly, I understood why.

  • “to see her succeed with a family of 5 and to pull it off looking so great.”

Are you effing kidding me???? That’s what you see as admirable? That is pathetic. That women doesn’t represent anything about me. And no, I am not a fat housewife. I am a professional women with a family and doing just fine.

Like Sumr said, do some research. She is not the upstanding role model you seem to think she is.
