Not Making Much Progress on the Sweater Front

Bill Cosby hosts the 30th Anniversary Celebration Of Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday.

I love Mr. Cosby with all my heart, but you’d think that, after twenty-plus years, he’d have found some sweaters that don’t look ridiculous. Sadly, this does not appear to be the case.

  • But the thing is he’s the only one who can pull it off! Anyone else wearing ridiculous sweaters get’s a “Bill Cosby wants his sweater back!” hollar.

damn now I want a pudding pop!

  • his sweaters werent weird in the 80s!

i dont like him anymore though. ive heard weird things about him.

  • “Hello Friend” was his son’s motto. although the sweatshirt may not be the most attractive it is in honor of his late son. the message and meaning is very touching and he is setting a positive example for all of us.

  • “Hello Friend” is the name of a charity that he and his wife formed after the murder of their son Ennis. Ennis used that phrase frequently I believe.

  • The “Hello Friend” is from a children’s show that he created that’s currently on the Noggin preschool t.v. network. The show is called “Little Bill” and that’s the main character, Little Bill’s most notable phrase.

And I only know this because I have a 3 year old who watches the show…I’m totally not a Bill Cosby know-it-all or anything…

  • And apparently several other people know different facts about the Hello Friend phrase, too.

Who knew it could mean so many things? :)

  • He reminds me of my Grandad, who also has bad taste in jumpers. (Fine, sweaters, whatever you want to call them over the pond.) Truely awesome.

  • I too have a son (2 years old) who LOVES the cartoon “Little Bill”. It is one of his favorites and I like to watch it with him. Little Bill says “Hello Friend” often and my son has picked up on it, it is so cute!
So, leave “Big Bill” alone! :-)

  • Actually “Hello Friend” is a phrase that Bill usually says immediately after removing his pants in public and looking down.

  • This inevitably makes me think of a Family Guy clip of guys doing “Bill Crosby aerobics” wearing grampa sweaters and making funny faces. Ha!
