Patrick Swayze announced on Sunday that, despite the fact that he’s battling pancreatic cancer, he’ll stay on in the lead role of the upcoming A&E series, The Beast. He’ll play an FBI agent who becomes a target of Internal Affairs.
“I have searched for quite a long time to find a character that is this multilayered, unpredictable and downright entertaining as well as a project this current and cutting-edged,” Swayze said in a statement from A&E.
The show will begin filming in Chicago this summer, and will air in early 2009.
My father passed away from cancer, so I can assure you I am not being lighthearted or flippant when I say this, but can you imagine the kind of insurance they have on his role? Lindsay Lohan can’t get insured by any company but one, yet a man with an extremely deadly form of cancer can. I wonder if she’s noticed that reality check yet.

I say if anyone can kick Cancer’s ass it is him.
He was never that good an actor to begin with but with all the plastic surgery he’s had to his face, does it even move? Can he emote? I’m surprised he’s working because I think it would be disturbing to watch him.
