Today's Evil Beet Gossip

I’m So Country, Ya’ll!!!

Jessica Simpson signs autographs for fans at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

If this doesn’t work out, she’s gonna try rap.

  • Top-40 Country is a treacly, horrible genre full of histrionic singing and cliches. If anyone can tackle this area, Jessica can!

  • can’t wait for the fresh rap cd from her…filled with disses on…chicken of the sea?

  • i wish she’d just be herself and stop trying to get back into “the game….” she was at her peak in like, 2002, 2003. it’s over–MOVE over. fame can be a b*%ch.

  • Ugh, the CMA Music Fest, formerly known as Fan Fair. Cheap cowboy hats, black socks with sandals and women who dress with that “busted can of biscuits” look in mind. Come next weekend for Bonnaroo!

  • Her first album (at 15) was gospel.

Maybe she’s just returning to her roots. After all, her pop career wasn’t stellar and the movies… well. Ugh.

  • ugh….i totally agree…..bunch of out of towners coming to invade our city. I get so sick of it. I live in Nashville and don’t even care for country music…..is that wrong of me??? LOL

  • What the hell does she ever shut that gaping hole of hers? The one on her face. I’m assuming the other one is always open for business.

  • I have to disagree with you, hmmmmmm. She’s never hit her peak. If anything, she’s a reality tv star first, then a singer, then an actress. Her albums have never been successful and she’s rarely had any singles actually chart. She’s the product of a very over-ambitious publicist (who’s also her creepy dad). She will never go away because she will be marketed until the day she dies. Or Joe dies.

Like the post above about Georgia Rule, I once watched Employee of the Month (cuz it was on and free) just to see how bad she was. Oh my God, I wasn’t expecting her to be that bad. A movie is bad when a non-movie industry person can notice the editing. You can tell her lines were edited out. Of course there were so many other things wrong with that movie. Who would be impressed by some show-off cashier in a Costco? With the exception of my mom.
