Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Cute Vest

David Beckham showed up to support chef Gordon Ramsay at the opening of his new restaurant, The London West Hollywood.

Apparently, he’s a member of the wait staff.

And brown shoes with black suit pants?

Posh must not have been home. She never would have let him leave the house like that.

  • truly, the worst part of this whole look is that terrible haircut/style.

i kind of love the supreme dorkiness of this picture :)

  • Damn you should come to Europe and check what fashion really is. His shoes are just awesome, so trendy!!! By the way, it is so much better than all the US women that we can see wearing tennis shoes with work clothes or classy suits!!!

  • I don’t care who the fuck you are. You don’t wear black pants with brown shoes. The End.

  • @Thomas: you beat me to what I was going to say. I think the shoes are fantastic too – fashion doesn’t need to be all matchy-matched. One of the hottest trends in high-end watches is a black face with brown strap (and we’re talking a 10k+ price tag). Fashion should be fluid, and I think DB embraces it with ease.

  • Tennis shoes wth classy suits, Thomas? I’ll let you in on a little secret. Most American women don’t mind if their shoes are unimpressive to European tourists because they’re too busy COMMUTING to work. Unlike much of Europe, who can take their sweet ass time walking six blocks in stilettos, we have a schedule to stick to. I can promise you that hidden in those oversized toting bags (that I’m sure you also find offensive with buisness wear) are a pair of fabulous heels to change into once we ARRIVE at work.

  • You people who think this is “trendy” need to step away from the pipe. Beet nailed it….Victoria would have never approved this absurd clown suit. LMAO!

  • Well said to “Wrong, Thomas.”

My first impression when I saw the picture… I just thought the entire outfit looked too tight on him.

  • he is british…so he can get away with it.

there is nothing wrong with brown shoes with a black pant. But there is something wrong with those black shoes with those black-ish pants.

but like i said, the rules are different for brits.

  • Whichever chef wins Hell’s Kitchen will take over the helm of The London West Hollywood, right?

Not that any one of them could man the fry station at a 20-seat fish & chip shop, but it’s the only reality show I watch.

  • Me, too! I love Gordon Ramsay so! Much!

I wasn’t sure how I felt about Mr Beckham’s tie, but I have concluded that this outfit is effing hot. (The shoes are my favorite part.)

  • ok ok guys you can like or not. But just take a look at the fashion shows and you’ll see. Color matching is a basic, but wearing everything in the same color is way oldschool. Just check any CK, Gucci, YSL fashion show!!

PS: “Wrong, Thomas” your comment is ridiculous. I work all day in a suit and I’m always on time. Same for women. I’m just saying, if you were classy clothes, you have to be 100% classy. Go buy NB shoes and have fun mate lol

  • No, something is wrong here. I like the shoes too, I’m not sure if that’s it. The bowtie for sure has to go! Are you a 70 year old college professor David? No. And I hate shaved heads. Someone says his clothes look tight, maybe that’s it too.

Thomas: you try running for the train in heels!!

  • He and Mischa Barton (a few posts up) are wearing twinsie outfits–she’s rockin the brown shoe/black pant/ridiculous vest too. I suppose all you fashion experts think her ensemble is also cutting-edge.

  • I am OBSESSED with Gordon Ramsay.
@ Slouchy, Forget Hell’s Kitchen, have you seen Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares, the UK original? He’s brilliant.

  • the fashion in europe is so different then in the u.s. and if people in the u.s. would move to europe they would be looked at weird because of the fashion but besides that……hes pretty much bangging.

  • @Ernestine: “I don’t care who the fuck you are. You don’t wear black pants with brown shoes. The End.” THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I could not possibly agree more!!

  • Gotta agree with Thomas on this, and well said by iiirene as well. european and american fashions are just very different… same for the matching issue: its perfectly normal in britain or france to wear black and brown together, something that always drives americans mad. that said, europeans can’t stand certain aspects of american fashion (mainly the casualness), so i guess each one dislikes aspects of the other.

that being said, while i generally love the waistcoat look, i think the bowtie is a bit much. i also wouldnt have worn the waistcoat and pants in the same color/material, as it looks a little too waiter-y… and probably done something abt the rolled sleeves and worn a jacket over it…

as regards the ridiculous debate over sneakers/suits, ive seen both europeans and americans do it and it looks funny every time, but i can understand why they do it.

  • Yeah, nice outfit, ha ha. And roll down those sleeves! The last person I want serving me my food is someone with prospective Hepatitis C tats all up his arms — gross!

  • wow! for the first time, he’s not dressed in complete hotness. The suite looks like its 2 sizes too small… and those ugly brown shoes… wowza, wowza. Maybe he’s doing it just to fuck with everyone…

  • OK, this guy needs to STOP wearing clothes that look like they shrunk in the dryer! David’s body is actually too sexy for clothes! go nakie!

  • in response to HEALTHY… SO AM I!!! I thought I was the only weird one! There is just something about him that makes him incredibly sexy… him and dare I say it? Simon Cowell… god, I hate myself! :o)

  • You gals want to have sex with a Scientologist? oooh. You want to have some alien slug implanted in your body?

  • He can eat crackers (or anything else he wants) in my bed any day of the week, but there is nothing…NOTHING right with this getup, from the very top all the way to the bottom.
