90210v2.0: Meet the Cast!

Ugh.

Look: When you have to run promos of your show that literally describe it as “cooler, sexier, and more provocative,” you’ve already lost. “Every character has a secret” and “nothing is what it seems”? These are things you should seamlessly hint at, folks, that should be shown in a teaser, rather than explicitly stated.

You people can’t even put together a watchable teaser! I gave up after the first minute!

This show is gonna suuuuuuuuuck.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t make it through a single season.

  • the only reason i’m remotely interested is because the girl playing “annie” is the girl that plays “darcy” on Degrassi…. and i’m so addicted to that show it’s not even funny, even though I hate Darcy. And she was also a random girl on some investigation discovery show I was watching one time. She was homeless in that one, but looked like she does in the 90210 preview….

  • @portlander

Hells yes! Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

The mum kills me the most thought “She is as cool as her children.”

I will watch this show just to see how full of suck it is.

  • You know if it is on the CW it has a high probability of the “SUCK” factor. Also, if Shannon Doherty isn’t on the show, it is for sure gonna suck!

  • WOW
    That was really bad.
It’s so obvious…. in trying to be “cool and modern” it ended up looking like an early 90s bullshit show.
    Soooo lame.

  • The thing about the original was that, cheesy as it may seem in retrospect, the show dealt with some of the social issues that our culture was facing at the time. They did shows about drugs, eating disorders, racism, domestic violence, money and social standing, and drunk driving (And a lot of other things that I can’t remember right now). It was the fact that they dealt with those issues, coupled with the fact that it was one of the only shows of its kind at the time, that made the first one relevant (in my opinion).

Compared to the shows that are on these days, the original 90210ers were pretty squeaky clean. I don’t think it will do very well because it’s just one in a sea of sexed-up teen soaps. And it’s not like the new one will have any sort of ground-breaking format. Plus, it’s on the CW, which is basically the kiss of death for any show.

  • that’s not a promo!
    that’s an entire fucking documentation!
    jeez, talk about spoiling something.
