Things looked hopeful last night, but Washington Redskins defensive back Sean Taylor did not make it through to morning.
He passed away early Tuesday morning.
He was shot in the groin in his home early Monday morning. The blood loss proved to be too severe, it seems.
I’m sure details will trickle out in time.
His home was broken into a little over a week ago, when Taylor was not there. Nothing was taken, but a butcher knife was left on his bed. For reasons unknown to the public, Taylor returned to the Miami home with his girlfriend and daughter this past weekend. He was shot at twice (only one bullet hit). Unfortunately this bullet partially severed his femoral artery, which is the major artery running through the thigh. His girlfriend tried to dial 911, but the phone lines and alarm system to the home had been cut. She lost precious time searching for her cell phone. Sean underwent surgery, and it has been reported that his heart stopped twice during the surgery. Despite reports that he squeezed a nurses hand, it is believed that he did not regain consciousness after being brought to the hosital. He succumbed to his injuries early this morning. His talent and energy will be greatly missed, especially amongst Washington Redskins fans. RIP SEAN!

I can’t believe this happened, it’s still unreal in my mind. Sean was settling down and coming into his own.
My heart goes out to his family and his 18 month old daughter. It’s a sad day in D.C.
I’ve been a Redskins fan since forever and was blowing raspberries at my television at yet another Sunday loss. Today, that shit doesn’t even matter. RIP Sean Taylor.
