“If you are going through that dark period, go to your family and closest friends. Don’t put yourself in danger. It’s very crucial that you get your feelings out – but don’t ever inflict harm on your own body because your body is so sacred. I wish I could tell every young girl with an eating disorder, or who has harmed herself in any way, that she’s worthy of life and that her life has meaning. You can overcome and get through anything. … there have [recently] been times when I definitely have been tempted to get rid of my dinner. But I will deal with it for the rest of my life because it’s a life-long disease. I don’t think there’s going to be a day when I don’t think about food or my body, but I’m living with it, and I wish I could tell young girls to find their safe place and stay with it. I don’t let anyone’s insecurities, emotions, or opinions bother me. I know that if I am happy, that’s all that matters to me. And it’s okay to be selfish like that sometimes, when it comes to your well-being. Do what makes you happy, and don’t care what others think.”

Demi Lovato admitting her eating disorder - coupled with self-harm – to Seventeen magazine.

I have to give Demi a lot of props for this whole thing, as she was idolized by teen girls as much as Miley Cyrus has been in the past (OK, probably not that much, but you get the comparison). However? Where Miley kind of seems up in the clouds, untouchable, and unaccountable for her own flaws, problems, and mistakes that she’s made, Demi comes clean and addresses this shit head-on. If this isn’t a breath of fresh air, then fuck. I have just about no idea what is. I’m just glad that Demi was able to get the help she needed before it was really too late, and she veered so far off the path that it was impossible to get back on.

It’s no secret that Carrie Underwood came from a Christian family, but unlike Katy Perry‘s mildly over-the-top mom, Carrie’s a little more laid back and approachable about her faith. Carrie recently interviewed with Fox 411 and discussed her spirituality, and her upcoming role in new movie Soul Surfer, a movie about a female surfer who, in a freak accident, loses most of her arm to a shark attack and seeks refuge from a faith-based counselor, played by Carrie.

Carrie on how ingrained her faith is in her life:

“I grew up in church and have a wonderful family that always supported that. I grew up going to church camp and reading my bible and having different faith books and movies in my life.”

On her upcoming role as a Christian counselor in Soul Surfer:

“I hope that it is very clear that the faith in this movie is more than an undertone, and that the reason Bethany got through everything was because of her faith in God. It’s easy to have faith when things are going great and you’re on top of the world – I’m winning, I’m selling, I’m on tour and this is all great! But this story is about having faith when the chips are down and how to deal with that. We can all learn something from Bethany’s story, even when the little things in our lives don’t go so well, we can take a lesson from her and realize how small that problem really is.”

On this, her first experience with acting:

” … (Acting) was a totally new animal for me, it was so different but everyone on the set really helped me along. They were patient and understood I had never been in a movie before and helped me through it.”

On being ‘boring’ off the camera and away from the stage:

“I live a boring life away from what you see me on camera doing, I’m just the most normal person on the universe. I’m a wife, a mother to my doggies, I’m a maid, I clean the house, I’m pretty boring. We don’t ever go out to eat, we don’t do anything,” she added. “As Carrie the person, I wander around in sweatpants, and when I have to be ‘Carrie Underwood’ I have to look (dressed up.) It’s like a big personality, if I look like this, and always wear makeup; my friends would be like, ‘What are you doing? We’re going to TGI Friday’s, what’s up with this?’”

So, my opinion? This girl is so normal and down-home that it kills me with glee. I’m actually really tickled to see a celebrity that has no problem speaking out about her personal faith, her avoidance of fame, and her wariness about all things new. In a day and age where it’s almost taboo to run around telling people about your religion (I mean, I’m a Christian – and I’m not afraid to admit it to anyone, but then again, I’m not selling billions of records worldwide and being photographed on the red carpet for all to see), I give Carrie mad props for sticking to her guns, being true to herself, and showing people that there’s nothing weird whatsoever about professing their faith.

You know, some people hear ‘Planned Parenthood’ and automatically think ‘abortions,’ ‘encouraging teen sex,’ and ‘fuck you, mom, I’m gonna do what I want,’ but in reality, Planned Parenthood is much, much more than that, and if the government has anything to say about it, it’ll be gone before we know it.

Although I think Scarlett Johansson probably did this because her new diddle-partner, Sean Penn, put a bug in her ear, I’m totally in agreement with everything she said. Eliminating government funding for Planned Parenthood WOULD be totally detrimental to the nation’s men and women who, frankly, aren’t lucky enough to be able to have a full-time job with benefits, or are able to fork over the three-hundred bucks a month for a health care plan of their own that doesn’t pay for shit for the first year anyway. Stopping monies for PP would be just as crazy as, I don’t know, Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn playing with a pork sword in a hotel room somewhere. And apparently? Crazy things happen sometimes.

This news should be totally delightful for his just 21-year-old girlfriend, Kristen Stewart to hear, huh?

Robert Pattinson did an interview for the new issue of Elle Magazine and in it he talked about for his fetish for the more mature set. You know, older ladies, cougars, whatever you wanna call them. Robert said, “I was always obsessed with Kate Moss. On my bedroom wall I had a poster of Linda Blair and Kate Moss. I always liked Jane Fonda. Who else? Ellen Burstyn.”

Hmmmm. While I always respect someone with an equal opportunity policy on hook ups, sounds like Robbo has a little bit of a mommy complex. While Kate Moss is still a hot young thing, Jane and Ellen have been in at least their 50s as long as Robert’s been alive. I mean, I had the hots for a Who’s The Boss?-era Tony Danza when I was five, and I still feel a little bit pervy.

Don’t worry, Kristen. The objects of Robert’s affection will be dead before you even know it.

(Sorry, that last line was really wrong of me.)

When we’ve mentioned that we’d like to see Lady Gaga in a more casual look (rockstar-meets-high-school-bully?), I don’t know that this is what we were thinking.

The singer stepped out in Texas yesterday wearing the above outfit, and while it seems to be her tribute to the Southern state, it’s also bizarre to see her in a regular ol’ pair of blue jeans. Of course she went and complimented the pants with a pair of platform cowboy boots, because God forbid the woman give her disgusting, tired feet a break.

Do you like the way Gaga looks dressed down or do you prefer her in her full blown idiot costume?
